The battlefield seems to be taking place on a grassy portion underneath a bridge. A young man is standing there with a Litten in a large pocket on his shirt. That's right, someone invested money in a cat hoodie. The Litten doesn't exactly look pleased to be there but he isn't putting up a fight either. 1v1 battle 1 pokemon each egg thread for moricks's eggs levels are nulled exp after each post you may have the first attack  Ibren male - 05 - intimidate scratch, growl, ember holding: nothing |

'i've got to break away' Minske had never been to the Magidome - he'd never actually battled with his Pokemon at all, which was a bit embarrassing. Or it meant he was doing something right, collecting Pokemon without having to harass anyone. But he knew that if he wanted to be a ranger, he couldn't have green Pokemon who didn't have a clue what they were doing. The landscape inside of the simulated room was incredibly lifelike, down to the scents and sounds one would expect next to a river. There was his... opponent, for lack of a better word, but Minske's smile was friendly as he reached into his bag and let loose his Phanpy. Kanna stumbled on his first step, as usual, given the added weight on his head and ears - but he was well adapted to it, and always recovered quickly. His eyes immediately fell to the other Pokemon, and he looked to Minske questioningly. < Why you not have spot for me to ride? > he demanded, and Minske had to hold back a giggle. "Because you weigh a ridiculous amount," he said, then returned his attention to the other trainer. "My name is Minske, and this is Kanna." As per the instructions he'd seen posted, he was just going to go ahead and officially start the battle - which he had some clue about, but he'd learn as he went. "Kanna, get prepared. Use Growl." While intimidation was definitely not the pachyderm's strong suite, he excitedly obliged, Growling in the Litten's direction.

| Convincing Ibren that battling today was a good idea had been difficult and honestly Morick wasn't sure that he had accomplished it. The Litten's face was still buried deep within the pocket of the hoodie and refusing to poke out. He wished that the cat would at least seem a little bit enthusiastic about their first training battle... But he supposed he could see why it was so tough for the cat. Apparently he hadn't had a good time with being a trainer's Pokemon yet... Even if it had taken him a couple tries to actually get to come with Morick. The human couldn't quite convince the cat that he wasn't going to be going anywhere and nothing was going to happen to him. And that he definitely wasn't going to be taking him back to the lab. But he guessed these things took time. So long as he was careful and gentle with the Litten hopefully eventually he would warm up to him.
But there was no time to muse over it as their opponents appeared finally. It would be good for Ibren to start to get a little bit of practice on the field. After all they wouldn't be able to protect Calla if they never actually did any training. Something he was absolutely determined to do. Not to mention getting some pictures of the battle would be great resources for work later. He hadn't actually ever been involved in one before so he was excited to see how the Pokemon actually moved. It would make painting it much easier if he could see it all first hand. "My name is Morick! And this is Ibren." He indicated to the sullen looking Litten still tucked away in the pocket. Carefully Morick lifted the reluctant Litten out of his hoodie pocket and set him on the ground, giving him a small scratch behind the ears for his efforts.
After all the fire type couldn't exactly battle if he was still in the pouch. The egg he was responsible sat on the wayside a bit, tucked carefully into a bag so that it wasn't damaged. He eyed it a bit as he straightened back up, wondering what was inside. "Alright, use ember Ibren!" It was clear that he was much more enthusiastic about this battle than his Pokemon was. The kitten flinching just slightly as the Phanphy used growl. But while he wasn't enthusiastic he wasn't going to roll over either. It was better to get this over quickly so that he wouldn't have to move around too much. Without moving from where Morick had placed him Ibren opened his mouth and let out an ember attack.
