[attr="class","rostercat2"]Vivien is, at first glance, a quiet but happy and upbeat individual. He's everyone's friend, always up for outings and a good time, and hates to be a gossip. The perfect sort to tell all of your problems to and have a listening ear. And he enjoys it, he really does. That arms-length type of friendship is where he's comfortable. He's not brave, and is more likely to try to talk his way out of a conflict than fight. He's even more likely to just hide and avoid it altogether. He's not strong enough to stand up to someone, emotionally or physically, and he truly hates that about himself. He doesn't like when others show him too much individual attention, even if it's well-meant. He doesn't want to talk about himself, and doesn't appreciate people prying. That's when that pleasant facade drops. He can be unpleasant if he feels cornered, especially by those that are showing kind interest and won't take a hint. He's happy on his own and doesn't want to be coerced into sharing all of his secrets, or his feelings. He's happy around Pokemon, though, and craves their love and affection more than anything else. Perhaps he craves it from people as well, but he's simply too insecure to let it happen. Pokemon are simpler than people. They don't have ulterior motives, and he can be whoever he likes. When he's around Pokemon, fiddling with them and observing them and learning, is when you see his true smile. [attr="class","rostercatsub2"]PERSONALITY | [attr="class","rostercat2"]Vivien grew up rather sheltered in his mother's home in Fortree. She was the matriarch of a large family - he had five older sisters, and there was a ten-year gap between Vivien and his next youngest sibling. Though he was the first boy in the family (given his father traveled and was rarely home), his mother had been very much wishing for another girl. It reflected in his name, and in all of the pictures that existed of him as a boy dressed in frilly gowns and garish outfits. His sisters hadn't helped - though the youngest two still lived at home, the older three would come home periodically and coo and fuss over their little doll. Vivien hated it, mostly. He didn't want to disappoint or upset them, though, and so he took everything in good form. So what if many of the neighbors thought the youngest child was a girl for years? Everything comes to an end, though, and when he was old enough Vivien started to assert his own wants and needs. He shucked the dresses and donned jeans and botton-downs, but years of femininity had left their mark. For one, he preferred to keep his hair long. For another, he was likely to be found lounging around and working with the Pokemon wearing loose, flowing clothing. He'd gained a young man's muscle, though, and wasn't so easily mistaken for a girl anymore. He hadn't been in a huge hurry to move out, at first, and spent his early teen years in school rather than traveling. He helped his mother, as all of his sisters had moved out. However, the more travelers and trainers came through his treetop city, the more he started to get that itch. While he was comfortable at home, he longed to learn more about the strange Pokemon that trainers brought through, and he dreamed - quietly, to himself - of trying to find the incredible Pokemon of legend. And he couldn't do that in Fortree. So, at the ripe age of nineteen, Vivien left home to experience the world. [attr="class","rostercatsub2"]HISTORY |
