Somehow Sam had gotten himself adventure friends. They were all curious about the green gems and what the purpose of them was. They had decided they would meet back up near the ‘entrance’ of the part of the forest where they all accidentally met. This time around, Sam was a bit more prepared. He had everything from before - but just in case they ran into some Pokemon or something, he had Bagon ready for action! Though, somehow Cutie had gotten the impression that it was his time to shine… and so Bagon quickly retreated— see, Bagon and Cutie don’t so much get along because Cutie can fly and sort of flaunted it in Bagon’s face one too many times so far.
Either way, Cutie was placed delicately on Sam’s head, smushed into his hair. He sort of looked like some sort of pink blob on top of Sam’s head, but Sam didn’t much mind it. Cutie usually made himself comfortable on Sam’s head until he was needed. Didn’t say anything, just intently glared at anything and everything Sam came across and judged everything Sam did while keeping it all quietly to himself since he didn’t much like to throw himself out there socially. Odd little bug- but Sam could relate.
So there he was, leaned against a tree, sifting through some of the gems he’d found. His thoughts traveled wildly through what they could be. The different legends that might hold them. What if these were connected to legendaries specific to the Inset region? So far the Pokemon populace seemed mostly like a mix, a bit like Kalos actually, but even Kalos had legendaries that were discovered there… so maybe this was a part of that? Or maybe he was just getting hopeful for now good reason… definitely and probably that.

I've spent most of my life Riding waves, playing acrobat Shadowboxing the other half Sarah came running up to Sam with her backpack freshly stocked with supplies and the gems she’d gathered so far secured in a safety deposit box back in town. She was ready to find some more and get down to business investigating this...business. He’d managed to get at least one Pokemon since they’d parted ways it seemed. She wondered if this was his starter! Her own starter was nestled into a scarf in her backpack which she wore the same way as before, with the Foongus chilling in his pokeball instead. The pokemon she’d let out this time was a shiny Budew who thought he was hot shit, named Plandaí. Which...now that she was closer - that was a shiny pokemon too! Ha! That would chill her budew out some, she figured. ”Speck for your thoughts?” she chirped with a smile, waving a pinky finger at the cutiefly perched on Sam’s head. She saw the way he was looking through all the gems he’d found and stooped to pick a few up herself, dipping her hand into a pocket in her bag. Plandai didn’t take well to the gentle jostling and humphed at her, < Hey! Watch it! > Sarah tsked, sucking her teeth at him, ”Oh shush, you silly boy! Would you rather be handed the gems and have to do manual labor to put them away yourself?” That shut him up quick and she smirked. She liked that she was finally getting the hang of how to talk to him. She was usually very sweet and gentle but he needed a firm hand to keep him from walking all over her. @ wizz and @yamikohai words: 252 green gems: +5 (5) pokemon: < Plandai the Budew > friendship for Plandai: +126 (126) notes: ack! Egg thread for Yamask, Corphish, and mystery egg if long enough | It was time for Bailey to meet up with his new...friends seemed like the word to use...and already he was running late. It wasn't really his fault though, he was running on time, early even, when he ran across a couple of eggs. After waiting about half an hour for a trainer to come by he figured whoever owned them had abandoned them or something, and had picked them up, leaving behind a partially hidden note with his number on it just in case. Two were in his bag, one black with two red splotches and the other a weird mismatch of colours and patterns, while his partner Citrine held the third, an orange one with a tan bottom.
After their small detour, the two were running to the meeting place hoping that the others hadn't left already. Getting closer he could see that they were there, and called out trying to ignore his own panting. "Hey! I made it!" Citrine just kept solidly plodding along, not wanting to shake the egg too much. They stopped a couple of metres away from the others, and Bailey was able to see that Sam had brought along his own pokemon this time, while he assumed that Sarah had hers once more in her bag.
"Sorry I'm late, I got a bit side-tracked. This is Citrine by the way." He gestured to the Makuhita at his side, while she just flashed a big smile at them, a bit shy in front of so many new people. "I asked her about the gems, cause she knows a lot about different rocks and stuff, you know? But she says she doesn't know what kind they actually are or what they're for." |

Hearing them approach, Sam gave a small smile at Sarah. He then laughed, because he couldn't help but do so at the way that shiny looking Budew reacted. "Looks like you've got your hands fully as well-- owe." He winced at feeling Cutie pull at his hair, because he knew good and well that Sam was talking about him and he decided to punish the human for assuming he could point out his flaws. How, dare, he.
Once he was done getting his hair pulled, he gave Cutie a pat to let him know he meant it in all good fun, before looking to Sarah. As far as his thoughts went... "I haven't figured anything new out, pretty much the same things. They're apparently putting the gems on the pedestals? I haven't seen it with my own eyes, but I've heard it here and there from different trainers." He admitted before leaning up off the tree and putting his bag for the gems into his messenger bag and shifting it to rest on his butt.
Just in time to hear Bailey approach. He smiled warmly and waved his hand when he heard him a bit away, arm falling once Bailey got closer. "Huh... I didn't think to ask the Pokemon in the area." He glanced around the forest and smirked. "They'll know if the gems just sort of surfaced or if they had been here beforehand, wouldn't they?" He wouldn't know for sure, because he wasn't a local.

I've spent most of my life Riding waves, playing acrobat Shadowboxing the other half ”Putting them on the pedestals, eh….like piling them up or decorating?” she pondered, tapping her chin with her index finger. ”We’ll need to be sure to stick around the pedestals for a little while today, then, and see if we can see that ceremony.” she suggested, glad to have found curious minds just like her own so soon into her journey. The cutiefly was giving its trainer a sour look and she had to cover her mouth with her hand to keep from laughing out loud at the face it was pulling. She turned as Bailey called out to them, and her eyes widened at the portly fighting type trotting along beside of him. ”You’re fine, I just arrived myself! Hello Citrine, it’s lovely to meet you!” Sarah said, beaming at the fighter. She had one of her own with Petunia the pancham who was getting up there in years and wasn’t always up for an adventure. She often stayed back at whatever hotel they were in for the night or did a bit of shopping for the supplies Sarah needed while she was in the field. They had a wonderful partnership - one she would always treasure. Hearing the makuhita’s quoted information about the gems caused the trainer’s brows to knit together in worry. Even an apparent geologist was unsure as to the nature of these precious stones. ”Hm, peculiar…” she said, examining another one she’d picked up as she straightened to stand once more. ”Yes I suppose that is one way to go about it. Surely those who have been in the area would have more information than we could get just by observing the way things are now.”Plandai popped his bud back up out of the bag, flexing it in frustration at the fact that he couldn’t see over the edge and letting her know as much < Lemme out! > he smelled a lady nearby and wanted to oggle and show off his fancy purple bib. It was only when Sarah obliged and plopped him onto the dirt path that he wiggled around and saw the yellow spherical pokemon and sputtered a laugh, but held in his own commentary, trying to stifle the giggles. Even if he didn’t think she was worth hitting on, he wasn’t cruel. wizz • and @yamikohai words: 380 green gems: +5 (10) pokemon: < Plandai the Budew >friendship for Plandai: + 190 (316) notes: I LOVE THESE ADVENTURE FRIENDS Egg thread for Turtwig (2/3)

Egg thread for Yamask, Corphish, and mystery egg if long enough | It seemed like his asking his own pokemon had given Sam the idea to do the same on a broader scope with whatever pokemon were in the area. He had to admit, it made sense to get a time frame on the whole thing before trying to figure anything else out. From what he'd been hearing from people in town and hanging around though, they seemed to be relatively recent additions, or at least people hadn't been finding them until now. Humans weren't as good at finding things as some pokemon after all.
He noticed a plant-like object start poking out of Sarah's bag, and his assumption that it was a pokemon was confirmed when it demanded to be let out. When it was put down on the ground it looked at Citrine and gave a laugh, and Bailey already didn't like it. She didn't seem to notice however, and beamed her signature smile towards him and held her hand out in greeting. <Hello. Pleased to meet you.> She still hadn't noticed the Cutiefly in Sam's hair, instead just thinking he was using a weird way of expressing himself with a pink tuft of hair.
Letting the pokemon talk for a bit, he looked towards his human companions. "So, where should we be starting then? Make our way to the pedestal and see if we meet anyone, or go looking for them around here?" As gung-ho as he seemed to be about the situation, he had no idea what to actually do. |

Honestly Sam was happy they were both seeing it his way. He glanced down at the Pokemon that was introduced and smiled, because she was a cutie. But that oddly colored - likely a shiny - Budew was... well, sort of a jerk. Sam saw him as a jerk anyway with the way he had laughed. The snicker from the top of his head pointed out that Cutie was a bit of a jerk himself. He glanced up and lifted a curious brow at the tuft of pink on his head before shaking his head and focusing on the gems. Because that would be way less stresful than dealing with the drama of the Pokemon being mean to the poor little shy Makuhita.
"Uh... I'm not sure. I guess we could venture around and see if we find anything useful." His tone was slightly less chipper than normal, mostly because he was distracted by the Pokemon he was so desperately trying to ignore. He couldn't really wrap his mind around why they were laughing. She was no joke and could probably take both of them in a battle... Cutie because he was a wimp and the Budew because it had low defense, and the type efficiency would be working against him.
"As far as decoration or purposed placement of the gems," he started while turning to look at the forest ahead of them. "I'm thinking they're probably less 'purposed' and more 'just sort of being put there.' Piled on, probably. Maybe it's strategic? But that'd take a lot of research..." Documenting patterns was possibly the most boring thing. It was borderline a stake-out, honestly.

I've spent most of my life Riding waves, playing acrobat Shadowboxing the other half Sarah could’ve just died at the way Plandai was acting, and it didn’t help that the cotton candy fluff in Sam’s hair seemed to only encourage the antics. Ugh, how did she end up with such a bully for a pokemon? She would really have to have a talk with him after this. And she didn’t know how to make it up to that beautiful and strong Makuhita without just making it worse. She just shot Plandai a mean mugging look, or as mean as she could manage to pull off, before breathing a tiny sigh of relief that Citrine at least seemed able to hold her own. Sarah herself had never had body image issues of that kind but she was used to people making snap judgements about her based on how petite and young she looked. They didn’t take her seriously or were condescending or patronizing or both. So she had some sympathy for Citrine taking on other people’s judgements for something as unimportant as how her body was made. She couldn’t help but to admire the pokemon for taking it in stride, though and brushing off the butthead boys snickers, simply replying in kind with normal decent manners and making them look like the immature brats they were. She offered her a silent smile, then, as the best common ground she could think of between nothing at all and falling to her knees and apologizing like a lunatic and just putting her foot in her mouth. More than anything she hoped her new friends didn’t judge her too harshly for her pokemon or think she had raised him to act that way or treat women as objects, judging their worth on how likely he was to want to do….whatever it was pokemon did! She focused that much harder on the task at hand, trying not to get caught up in pokedrama. If the guys weren’t going to let it hamper their efforts then she wouldn’t either. And again, Citrine had handled herself well enough. Plandai scrunched up his baby face at how nobody had acknowledged him or cooed over how pretty he was. What the hell, guys?? Was the look on his minimal features. Sarah of course continued to ignore him. He didn’t know how he’d ended up with a trainer who didn’t seem to care about him as much as he even cared about himself. Wasn’t that the whole point of having a trainer? To have someone to dote on you and love on you and tell you what a beautiful perfect boy you were?? ”Is it some kind of offering?” Sarah said suddenly at the idea of them being just piled on, ”Maybe the pedestals are altars? Like...sacrificial? Oh dear…” her heart raced at the thought, ”Are we in a cult now??”wizz • and @yamikohai words: 469 green gems: +5 (15) pokemon: < Plandai the Budew >friendship for Plandai: + 235 (551) notes: I LOVE MAKUHITA SHE'S A BEAN LET'S JUST SAY PLANDAI IS GOING TO THE FRIENDSHIP FIESTA LATER TO LEARN SOME LESSONS IN BEING NICE D8< Egg thread for Turtwig (2/3)

Egg thread for Yamask, Corphish, and mystery egg if long enough | When the cutiefly on top of Sam's head laughed as well, Citrine realised that the budew might not have been as nice as she had thought. While normally she would have gone and given them a talking to about how they should treat people, she knew it wasn't her place. They had their own trainers for that after all, even if they weren't raising them right so far. Instead she picked her egg back up off of the ground, clutching it tightly but not enough to break it, and waddled behind Bailey as though hiding.
For his part Bailey reached back and patted her head, assuming she wanted to be comforted. He was really not liking those other pokemon, even if their trainers seemed like decent people. He kept listening to their thoughts on the gems, as he still had less of an idea than they did. "I doubt it's a cult. From what you've said there are only three of them, one in each area. And besides, if it was a cult why would they be giving people rewards for finding them when the cult could go and get them." None of that explained what they were doing, but it more or less removed one possibility.
"Anyway, if we wanted to see what they were doing we should get moving. It'll probably take a while to figure anything out, so the more time we have the better." And the less time he had to stand around with the jerks picking on Citrine the better...hopefully it was just a misinterpretation in the first time they'd met. |

There was no way of denying the fact that his Cutiefly was being a jerk. He snorted and snickered and did pretty much everything he could to be a small jerk. It probably stemmed from the type difference, since Sam had noticed Cutiefly often got ahead of himself and cocky if his type was a definite advantage. Fighting versus fairy? It was a win for Cutie, if he didn't get cocky. But in the world of Pokemon and battling, honestly, anything was possible. Sam had seen it himself whenever the Elite Four had their Championship open. It was a massive event and the trainers and their small techniques and odd advantages against all odds- it was inspiring.
But more importantly, Cutie was being a jackass. Sam pulled out Cutie's Pokeball and withdrew him. Cutie was a more reclusive Pokemon anyway. Sam didn't care one way or the other about having a Pokemon at his side like the others did. Not if it meant that the Pokemon couldn't keep his negative attitude to himself. At least he wasn't obsessing over the Makuhita... because Cutie had a bad habit of being obsessive over the strangest of things and Sam wouldn't put it past him to have gotten obsessed over the cute Makuhita.
"Sorry about him." Sam admitted, deciding that ignoring his Cutiefly's actions was wrong. "He's used to living in a forest where he's the only shiny around." Sam admitted, though it wasn't an excuse, he was just trying to get Bailey to see that Cutiefly was a jerk because he didn't have the experience of not being one... okay so it definitely was an excuse, but still.
"As far as the gems go, I agree. Getting a move on is probably our best bet..." Sam glanced forward at the forest ahead of them, huffing a small sigh. "Alright, let's get this party started.. did you guys want to split up or stick together? I mean, we're here to observe and seek out Pokemon of the area to ask questions to... I don't know if it would be better if we were separated or not..." They sort of did go through the effort of meeting back up so that they were together again. Huh... Was that counterproductive?

I've spent most of my life Riding waves, playing acrobat Shadowboxing the other half Sarah’s heart ached when Citrine toddled behind Bailey and for a rare moment of anger flaring up for her, wondered if it would be pokeabuse to punt Plandai? Probably. Shhhhhheewww, no, shhh, just...breathe. She told herself, cracking her knuckles nervously and hoping they didn’t think she’d raised him to act this way. Sarah felt uneasy and tried to focus on what Bailey was saying about the cults, :Well that’s easy, if it’s a cult giving people rewards then they’re recruiting? Seeing who will mindlessly collect things for rewards and showing people ‘see, we’re a good organization, we reward our members for hard work,’ etc.” if nothing else, that counterpoint only had her that much more convinced that there was something fishy about this group. ”Maybe we’ve been thinking of the gems wrong all along. They’re worthless, really, and it’s just what they represent. What we’re willing to do, how much work we’re willing to put in. They’re testing people….”When she saw Sam make Cutie retreat to his ball she thought that very well may be a good idea. Plandai was still standing around looking pissed off that people weren’t giving him attention. She would do him one better. Pulling out his cherish ball she pulled him into it with a sigh, ”I’m sorry too. Plandai was my starter from the ranger station and he’s got a bit of a superiority complex because his petals just happen to be an odd color. Same as Cutie, it sounds like. I’m going to work with him on that.” she shrugged at the question of what to do next, ”We did just meet up again, but you’re right. Splitting up may be a better bet. We can cover more ground that way. And people may be more willing to talk one on one than being bombarded with a trio. Citrine what do you think?” she asked, reengaging the Makuhita and offering an olive branch on behalf of her team. wizz • and @yamikohai words: 327 green gems: +5 & +100 for ten posts (120) pokemon: < Plandai the Budew >friendship for Plandai: + 164 (715) notes: we can probably end this and start up with your all's replies to this post in a new thread just so we can get another tenner in XDD Egg thread for Turtwig (2/3)
