[attr="class","rostercatsub2"]PERSONALITY | [attr="class","rostercat2"] LET ME ENTERTAIN YOU let me make you smile Born in Coumarine City to an older couple who had tried for many years to conceive a child, Aislin was seen as an absolute blessing from above! With her big violet eyes and soft red curls, she was as pretty as a doll and from the moment she was born was treated as one. Although they made a humble and honest living as a pair of school teachers, every spare cent her parents made was sunk in to giving her the best upbringing they could afford. Whether it was enrolling her in early education courses from the age of three to signing her up for various arts lessons over the years. They wanted to foster a love of learning in their little girl. She was expected to do her best from this young age, and so developed the drive she still has today of self-motivation and quick absorption of new information. let me do a few tricks It was a common thing, growing up, for her parents to trot her out at parties for their friends and colleagues to see. For her to recite sonnets or play a classical piece on her guitar. They would applaud and feed in to the growing and ever hungry fame monster inside of her. She lived for the attention showered on her and this only accelerated when, on her 9th birthday, she was given her very first Pokemon. A shiny Dedenne which she named Nerissa after the handmaiden in Merchant of Venice. She thought of this pokemon, her very first and most beloved companion, as her own sidekick. And the little mouse had as much spunk and vivacity as her namesake character. some old and then some new tricks What was supposed to have been a simple companion pet-type Pokemon turned into a contest partner not very long at all after coming into Aislin's life. She'd always been curious about contests, had been obsessed with the pageantry and performance of them when she would see them on television or convince her mother to take her to them when they happened in town or nearby. And now that she had a Pokemon of her very own, well, she could start training it! She and Nerissa worked every day - after her schoolwork and chores were finished of course - to build up her talents and moves and develop their relationship as a team. By the age of 11, Aislin was entering youth division contests and making a bit of a name for herself. Eventually it got to the point that her parents pulled her from regular classes to have a private tutor instead, at the recommendation of other contest-parents, something they never thought they would be. Chess-parents, maybe. But not this. Nevertheless they had to admit Aislin had a knack for it, and so long as she kept up with her lessons they couldn't see why they should stand in her way. Especially when most of her winnings went into a trust for her, at least what was left after paying for touring fees, costumes, props, and even her tutor's wages. I'M VERY VERSATILE SOME PEOPLE CAN GET A THRILL knitting sweaters and sitting still By the age of fifteen she had quite the collection of ribbons and memorabilia, and was even doing private shows outside of main contests for people who requested her for weddings or parties. She of course never lost her love of contests, but after finishing school early she had a lot more extra time on her hands. Her party of well-trained Pokemon grew from just Nerissa to a Persian named Portia, a Vulpix named Ophelia, Mercutio the Gallade, Viola the Sylveon, and Banquo the Whimsicott. She discovered along the way that she had a preference for fairy types and was definitely more drawn to physically beautiful or cute Pokemon. Even if an ugly Pokemon would have performed an impressive move in a show or contest, she would be more likely to pass over it for a more aesthetically pleasing Pokemon instead. She always kept herself active with them in training and loved each of them dearly, wanting to push them to perform at their best. She never continued to train a Pokemon that didn't love the thrill of a show as much as she did, or who didn't seem to come into performing naturally. that's okay for some people Her eighteenth birthday passed with her feeling like she was in a creative rut. The contests she was doing locally were boring her and she'd aged out of the junior divisions of competition. It was high time to cut her teeth on something exciting and new. After saving up from her 16th birthday, she finally had more than enough to fulfill a dream she'd had from a young age of moving up and out to Lumiose City! The contests were stiffer competition, her opponents that much more glamorous and intimidating, and she knew instantly she'd made the right decision! She was ready to push herself and her Pokemon even further, to grow and succeed in this new more challenging stage. WHO DON'T KNOW THEY'RE ALIVE STARTING HERE STARTING NOW everything's coming up roses The catalyst that set her new trajectory in life in motion was the devastating passing of her beloved Nerissa. No matter how much she'd grown with the rest of her team, she was inconsolable and thought long and hard about giving up contests for good. She was 24 years old, had been in the game a long time, and wasn't sure if she had the will or ability to get back in the arena without Nerissa by her side. Her parents had retired ages ago to an entirely different region, a tropical collection of islands known as Alola. She considered joining them but didn't want to be a burden. clear the decks, clear the tracks! So instead after sitting in her luxurious apartment with its stunning view of the Prism Tower, her team around her tired and getting up there in age themselves, she thought perhaps it was time for a fresh start. She gifted her team members to older friends and colleagues who had retired themselves, whom she knew could and would take care of the older 'mon. She knew she had her entire life ahead of her and didn't want any part of her old life in Kalos to follow her to her new home. you got nothing to do but relax! An extensive month of research and arrangements later, she was stepping off a plane and strolling through the city of Circunus. The harbor reminded her a lot of her childhood city of Coumarine and for the first time in a long time she felt at peace with life and her decisions. She had youth and experience, a combination of things not many could count on having. The adventure awaiting her was sure to be an exciting one, and she knew there would be plenty to keep her busy and distracted from the grief she'd left behind in Kalos. And when she'd dominated the contest rings here? Well...there was a whole world out there to see. But for now she was ready to put down temporary roots in Inset and begin to rebuild her coordinating name in this new region. BLOW A KISS, TAKE A BOW! [attr="class","rostercatsub2"]HISTORY |
