[attr="class","rostercat2"] Willy is a person whose first impressions are distinctive, commanding attention just from walking in the room. With the dangerous combination of too high self-esteem and an inability to read social situations, Willy marches to the sound of her own beat, often while wearing a croc sandal combo. She is bold, loud, unafraid to talk for hours on end if anyone will give her the opportunity to do so. As such she can easily be annoying, but there is a certain zany charm to the woman that almost makes her thirty minute lectures on the various wild greens she collected worth it. Almost. Bright and positive, Willy is the type of idiot you want to be around. Nearly every negative situation can, in Willy's eyes, be given a positive or even humorous twist. Failure does not bother her, nor do insults. Words never managed to get beneath her skin, she cares much more about how someone behaves, and is not afraid to admonish someone for their actions. A real wild child, Willy has always loved pokemon and the environment, growing up roughhousing in the suburbs and spending long weekends camping and exploring the nearby countryside. Willy is somewhat protective of pokemon and the land, jumping to the defense of the helpless in a way that can often end up not that helpful. She especially loves fighting type pokemon, thinking of them as spunky and scappy (two words often used to describe her as a little girl), though she would never limit herself to just one type. When it comes to social situations, Willy struggles to take them seriously, preferring to smile and laugh to cover her inevitable misunderstanding of a conversation. She finds pokemon easier to talk to than humans, especially easier to talk to than girls. When confronted with a particularly cute girl Willy clams all the way up, stumbling over her words and her normally athletic body. Deep down inside Willy is a hopeless romantic and a huge trash tv fan, watching everything from the bachelor to standard soap operas in her free time, downloading them onto her phone for enjoyment when she is deep in the wilderness. (Because you can enjoy nature and love triangles, damn it!) All she wants is a cute girl to sweep her off her feet. This, combined with an over active imagination and a penchant for day dreaming, helps account for half the reason her brain short circuits. In reality, Willy has never really faced real hardship and it shows in her overwhelmingly positive attitude. With friends and a support system, she could rise above it. But being isolated and rejected could spell ruin for her. [attr="class","rostercatsub2"]PERSONALITY | [attr="class","rostercat2"]Born as the fourth child in a large family, Willy had the distict benefit of not too much responsibility and not too much attention. Surrounded by her siblings, a total of two sisters and three brothers, her house was always a rough and tumble free-for-all of children and pokemon, her parents being retired trainers and running a daycare service out of their house. In all of this chaos, Willy arose out it as her own person, though her siblings could claim she is a cobbled together person picking and choosing whatever scraps of a personality she could find. Dressing in hand-me-downs regardless of the original wearer's gender, challenging any creature that entered her house (pokemon, sibling's friends, etc.) to a wrestling match to assert dominance, and otherwise doing whatever it was her little heart desired, Willy thrived in the suburbs of Grus. Her parents were open, indulgent, and generally too busy to police her behavior, so she grew up leading escapades into the nearby forest and coming back with an assortment of scraped knees and new friends. Friends she never had a shortage of. She was open and accepting of all the other little weirdos in her classroom, and they flocked around her as she became their de facto leader. This would do little to develop a normal social life. School was boring to her, and she wasn't particularly bright. She excelled in more creative tasks, and could hardly sit still for things like math and reading. Science was a little bit better, because she liked nature and pokemon, and those classes always had subjects she was willing to pay attention to. A trouble-maker simply because of how loud and oblivious she was, Willy often got in trouble for things like talking to anything with a pulse next to her, and starting small-scale revolts against teachers. Her parents answered the school's concerns with a shrug, so Willy went on her merry little way collecting her Cs. It wasn't until she graduated high school that she realized she was going to need a career path, which was a big downer. Responsibility and thinking ahead weren't Willy's things, per se, as evidenced by her one attempt at asking out a girl who ended up being straight, a failed reading from her own broken gaydar. It had been a spur of the moment blurting out of words that was responded with confusion and rejection. Willy didn't take it personally, never took anything too personally, moved on. It was all good. But she couldn't very well keep living at her parent's house with her kid siblings. Her older brothers and sister were already out in the world doing things like having babies and working in banks. Sure, Willy helped out with the family business, which was fun, but it wasn't until she chanced to stop at a ranger recruitment table that she realized she had a chance to go out, explore, and help the world around her. So, without a blink of hesitation, she signed up, managing to remember to tell her parents the day before she left. [attr="class","rostercatsub2"]HISTORY |
