So Champ found himself coming back to the outpost quite a bit earlier than he had expected. He hadn't planned to come back until he had his first badge in hand to prove his worth. That was until, he had found the flyer posted all around Cassiopeia Village as he returned to gather up some supplies. Apparently the region was in need of rangers and was hosting an easier entrance test.
Champ didn't feel as if he needed the easier test as he was content to prove his worth but how nice would it be to have that ranger title so early on? His father would be so proud to see him becoming a ranger with so little experience, if only he was there to see him. Eventually his own pride lost to the memory of his father and he, for the second time that week, made his way to the outpost.
His new Poochyena had made it abundantly clear he wanted to stay out of the pokeball, trotting happily alongside his Growlithe. The dark type was a chatterbox, that was for sure. He chatted happily with both of them as they made the grueling trip by foot back to the base of the mountain.
It was mid-afternoon by the time he arrived back at the outpost. In his hand was a single flyer that he had torn from a light post in Cassiopeia Village. Stepping inside, nearly tripping over both of his pokemon in their rush to enter the building, Champ made his way back to the receptionist desk to stand there yet again waiting for anyone to greet him.
Reaching out, he rang the little bell on the desk, anxious to begin his journey into ranger-dom. Both of his pokemon quieted and stilled as the song rang out in the little office. "Hello? I'm here for the battle!" Champ called out, holding up the crumbled flyer.

{ } It was disappointing, to say the least, that he wouldn't be able to use Yvette in this event. It was most likely going to be newer trainers with lower leveled Pokemon that showed up. Meaning he would have to use one of his lower leveled Pokemon in order to compensate for that. But he didn't really mind all that much. After all, he was here to evaluate potential new recruits. That's why when he saw a certain person's name on the list he knew he'd be the one to take their challenge. Clipboard in hand he strolled out to make sure that everything was in place.
They were going to have a busy time sorting through all of these people. But that didn't mean he was going to rush it."I see you're back already." He'd taken care of this kid himself. Getting him situated in accepting that his Growlithe was his starter all along. Now he was back and here to challenge him. If nothing else he was tenacious. "Head outside to the yard. We'll be doing the battle there. Make sure to pick your Pokemon wisely." He wasn't sure if the kid had managed to catch any other Pokemon or if he would be challenging the Growlithe he'd met previously.
Either way, he headed out to the yard himself, ready to battle this kid and see if he had what it takes to be a ranger.MADE BY VEL OF GS + WW

Champ wasn't in the least bit surprised at who greeted him. It was the man who had originally helped him get started in the beginning. It only stood to reason that he would be the one to battle him. After all, it appeared as if he was the only person who seemed to run the desk here.
"I am back!" Champ replied cheerfully, placing his hands on his hips and squaring his shoulders. "This time I've come to prove myself worthy of the ranger title, just like you said to!" He boasted, as if Kieron had personally invited him on the first meeting to become a ranger, as opposed to simply stating the qualifications he needed to become one.
Growlithe yipped excitedly by his feet, picking up his trainer's mood easily. Champ was pleased to see there would be no mincing of words and that they would just get to it. "C'mon boys, to the yard!" He commanded of the two pokemon who had followed him in.
The trio exited the outpost and walked towards the large open yard to the side of the building where it was clear numerous battles had taken place before as evident by the trodden grass and what seemed to be a charred spot off to the side.
Champ whistled for his two pokemon, who both lined up next to him. "I will be using these two." He said plainly, waving his hand to motion at Growlithe and Poochyena. "Growlithe, you're up. Time to show us what you've got!"
The fire type barked happily, his large white tail wagging behind him as he trotted forward, ready to battle.
