| Pokemon: | Trent watched his gentle but excited expression. There was this quiet anticipation for whatever came out of the egg. Not even born and yet so loved. Trent looked away wondering if his parents had ever anticipated him like that or if he was always the oh great another boy. Honestly, he wouldn't have minded dressing up as a girl like a daughter his mother always wanted but later got. His dad probably wouldn't have allowed it though. He didn't care for this one bit. Yet it would be rude to leave now. Who knows if this guy could handle a baby. Though he'd probably be better at it than Trent. He couldn't say he had the patience for such things. Mainly because he had no experience with it. "Ay, pay attention," Darrik pecked his ear earning a flick. "Seriously do you have to do that every time." "No bickering," Trent scolding him lightly as he looked to him then the egg. "It should hear positive things first and foremost to encourage a good upbringing." "I'd like to hear stuff like that from you," Darrik said snorting and smiling. His trainer was rarely positive. "You are greatly loved," Tina said to the egg in light of Trent's positiveness comment. Clearly, he was excited. The way he looked at it, the way he almost helped it along but retracted his fingers once he heard Trent's voice. The guy was right, he needed to let it happen naturally. The little bit of poke-talk between the Oddish and the Taillow had Kaneda giving a warm smile. A poke here. A peck there. A peck huh? That meant bird type possibly, but a lot of non-bird types had beaks about them. He didn't mind so much. He enjoyed the wingspan and the fact that when they got big enough they could fly him around... because he's a lazy bastard that only thinks of the perks his Pokemon could give him in the realm of comfort rather than the realm of battle. A few cracks later and suddenly the little Pidgey inside was flapping its wings and letting out small cries. Its eyes landed on Kaneda first, who was beaming down at it. The small little way it hopped out of its egg and started toward Kaneda's lap had him grinning. He was already digging his hand through his bag without looking to get it some seed it could handle. It was a strange mixture because these little Pidgeys were supposed to have their mothers eat the seed and then spit it out into a mush that was more easily digestible for the baby bird. While Kaneda wasn't against that, the breeder had looked at him funny and sold him the pre-mush instead of letting him take matters into his own hands. Speaking of, his hands were being pecked at. Likely because the little bird was hungry, pecking at everything it found. Kaneda smiled and put some of the mush in his hand, moving his hand down. It happily pecked at what was in its Trainer's hand before shifting its talons and going to town on the mush in his hand happily. "Hello there." Kaneda wanted to be the first person the Pidgey heard. "You're an interesting little ... fella? Er, fellaette?" He glanced at the different pattern than any other Pidgey he had ever seen. A sort of red, white, and blue crest on its head. He loved the mixture of colors and his free hand moved to finger the feathers, which didn't seem to bother the newborn flying type in the slightest. gems. 5 words. 403 notes. | Pokemon: | Trent watched with faint interest. It was Darrik who was the most happy at it being a flying type. Tina smiled though watching the tiny bird as it quickly bonded. "She's so cute," Tina said smiling. "A mutation," Trent said looking to the birds crest. "They are rare for the most part. You should take care of it and watch yourself. Many people would be willing to pay for or even steal Pokemon like that." He thought to his own employer in speaking. It was his job to study mutated DNA. The company collected mutated Pokemon specifically for study and to sell to the highest bidders. "Ah, so young," Darrik said smiling. "I bet when she get's older she'll be quite the looker. Need ol' uncle Darrik to watch over her. Defender of the ladies and all." Darrik puffed out his chest like he was proud of that fact. "I can teach her to dance," Tina said spinning about. "Sure why not," Darrik said rolling his eyes. "That'll be up to her though." "At least you seemed prepared," Trent stated watching the bird eat. "I was half expecting you to fumble raising a baby."TAGS: wizz • Wordcount: 194 +5 Green |

Something like a grin pulled at Kaneda's mouth. He furrowed his brows and feigned offense, pulling a face up at Trent as he continued to move his fingers through the small bird's feathers to show his bond. You were supposed to maintain a good amount of physical contact with newborns, to establish a link and all that, right? "Oh, wow, thanks." His sarcasm was thick, but the gratitude was sort of honest. "I'll be sure to keep my eyes on her, hands on her, keep her out of trouble." A small smile formed, one of adoration, one he rarely gave anything but Pokemon. People didn't deserve his adoration- they got it enough from everybody else, why would they need it from him? Instead, he gave friendly smiles because they caused fewer fights and were considered average and normal. But to this little bird, who had his heart by her talons, he was all but smitten. She was adorable, beautiful, and would be wonderful. He noticed the other two Pokemon curious about her and talking back and forth about her. She seemed too interested in food and pecking at Kaneda's hand, to be bothered with them. "I picked up the food from a breeder I crossed paths with a while back. Knowing I'd have two babies here decently soon, I thought it would be best to keep a large variety on me... to be honest, I'll be happy to rid myself of the ones I don't need." Because they were heavy and he was all about lugging around only as much as he needed at a time. gems. 10 words. 280 notes. Dantelion

| Pokemon: | At least he was smart enough to have food on him for it. Though the fact he'd bought a wide variety attested to the fact he didn't know much about what to expect. Trent has never had children either so he supposed it was better to be over prepared. "Even the breeder couldn't say what the breed would be," Trent both stated and asked. "A rare thing indeed. Unfortunately, I have enough supplies and no baby Pokemon ready to hatch. So you will just have to unload your burden elsewhere." "What happened to that positivity being the thing that baby needed to hear," Darrik said and pecked his ear earning a flick. "She's really hungry," Tina said watching the baby. "What's her name gonna be?"
"Whatever this guy picks," Darrick responded. "It should be something pretty like Flower," Tina said making Darrik put wing to head. "She isn't a grass type," Darrik responded. "So," Tina always got him with that one line. How can he come back at that? "Your load will at least be a little lighter with at much as she's eating," Trent said watching. "You'll have to be careful, don't want her too fat to fly. When it comes time."TAGS: wizz • Wordcount: 203 +5 Green |

"Don't worry I didn't plan on dumping my baby food on you." Kaneda teased - because he was far too happy and excited to see anything Trent said as all that negative. His fingers were done playing with feathers, though he was definitely pulling his fingers through her wings and over her talons. She didn't seem to mind, pecking way until the food was all gone, pecking then at his hand, and when that didn't produce food she moved to pecking at the ground. Thoroughly amused, Kaneda moved his gaze not away from his new bird, but instead to where she was pecking, because it was close to a few things he was very fond of and would like to keep away from her beak. The remainder of the food on his hand was wiped on the grass where she was picking. She began threading the blades of grass through her beak as she tasted the small remains of the food from her Trainer's hand on them. At the mention of flying, and 'when the time came,' suddenly he was having a small laughing fit, and a bit of a panic attack. The laugh washed away his worry to a simple realization. "Holy shit, I didn't even think about her flying. I might have to take her somewhere with other bird types for that... Since I'm not a bird, and all that."gems. 15 words. 242 notes. Dantelion

| Pokemon: | "I am sure there are plenty of places to go," Trent remarked. "Birds are one of the most common species after all."
"I wouldn't mind teaching her," Darrik said chuckling. "Not that either of you understand me."
"Humans could flap their arms," Tina said and cocked her head. "Why can't they fly?"
"Because their arms are too small and they are featherless," Darrik said sighing. "Oh," Tina cocked her head. "Feathers are really special huh." "Darn right," Darrik puffed out his chest. "If nothing else place her someplace about five feet tall and have her jump. She should flap instinctively. Birds learn from jumping between objects," Trent said putting research he has studied out there. "Five feet is a safe distance for a bird fall. There are several who have survived up to twenty feet but not without breaks," Trent stated. "Your best bet is wild Pokemon or doing it yourself. Don't let a breeder touch her. They tend to baby Pokemon and it's unnatural."
"Your distaste for humans is showing again," Darrik mocked. "And there is nothing wrong with babying a Pokemon that is a baby."
"If she is to be strong she must stand on her own talons," Trent said as though understanding his Pokemon. TAGS: wizz • Wordcount: 207 +5 Green |

Oddly enough Kaneda was happy to have Trent there. Because he was sharing information with Kaneda that Kaneda would have otherwise had to research or ask a breeder he randomly ran into- if he did. "I thought about a jump off of something at a decent height." He admitted, watching as the Pidgey turned and rotated in her new habitat, a small chirp or three coming from her as she bounced about. Her feet were new to her, though, and she fluttered her damp feathers and shook her body, puffing her feathers out and then making her way over to the closest thing that moved other than her new Trainer- something that looked like everything else on the ground with eyeballs. Which she pecked at. Luckily Kaneda was keeping a sharp eye on her, quickly grabbing her before she could poke out Tina's eye. "Ack, no, not the eyeballs, she needs those. We don't eat eyeballs." He admitted, huffing out a small sigh. The Pidgey nibbled on his fingers before the warmth of her Trainer's hands seemed to settle with her. Her eyes slowly began slipping closed. A small chirp, soft, like a whisper, was given before she nuzzled into the hands that held her. Kaneda softly smiled. "Already tuckered herself out. Look at that..." after a small sigh, his eyes moved up and over to Trent. "I'll train her myself then, thanks." The smile he gave reflected his gratitude and honesty behind it. "I would have had to read a book if it weren't for your big brain." Another tease, because he couldn't help but build up somebody's ego only to tare it down within the same breath. gems. 20 words. 296 notes. Dantelion

| Pokemon: | "Better a big one than a small one," Trent responded. Don't try to bite the hand it just might slap you back. "She's curious," Tina said blinking at being saved. She still didn't seem to mind it could have killed her. "Naive grass type," Darrik said shaking his head. "Could have just as easily said nothing. It wouldn't have been fair to her however," Trent said crossing his arms. "Personally I think Pokemon should raise Pokemon. Humans are too soft on them and give them everything they desire. A Pokemon raised by breeders and other humans would have a far greater time time trying to survive the wild." "I can agree to a degree. I mean they wouldn't have the benefit of natural instincts. They would be a lot smarter though. I mean they got humans to teach them stuff," Darrik said shrugging. "I like being wild. I feel free," Tina said. "You kind of aren't wild anymore," Darrik responded earning a cocked head. "He caught you." "So," Tina responded earning an irk from Darrik. One word was all it took to shut him up. She did that on purpose didn't she. TAGS: wizz • Wordcount: 192 +5 Green |

Slowly Kaneda arched an eyebrow. He couldn't help but shrug at the idea that Pokemon should raise Pokemon. "I agree that they should be taught things by Pokemon, but we as Trainers and even you Researchers teach Pokemon just as Pokemon teach us. I think... I think it's like, a balance, y'know?" Arceus that sounded cheesy, but he really meant it. He had learned just as much from people as he had from Pokemon and he knew he had taught his Pokemon a lot just like they had him. So, why couldn't they all learn from each other? "But as far as the babies go? I could see where they would benefit from their own teaching them. So they don't grow up thinking themselves humans or anything strange like that. But I think as long as I make it known to her she's not like me, it'll become obvious, and she'll see her own kind out in the wild." He shrugged his shoulders. "I've never met a breeder who was abusive, but I've also never met a breeder who was lenient. It's always a really delicate balance with those guys. They're damn good at it too. Guess that's why they pick up the profession, huh?"Suddenly something occurred to him and it caused him to glance up and over to Trent while raising a brow. "What about you? Don't you Researchers hatch Pokemon in your labs and raise them to collect data and all that?"gems. 25 + 100 for thread completion. words. 269 notes.
