MADE BY ★MEULK OF THQ | Reid’s peck this time around was definitely sloppier than before thanks to the supersonic. She still managed to land a hit that seemed to cause the Mantyke to go into sheer panic. Once Reid made contact, she retreated back to safety on her side of the bed. Her head was still spinning but only a fraction of how it felt before; the confusion seemed to be wearing off. It was lucky thanks in part to the fact that the young Mantyke had never used it before; supersonic worked but not as well as it could have.
“Oof, I feel like I have a bad hangover,” Reid said. Carm scoffed at her ridiculous comment, “And how would you know what that feels like?” The Taillow looked back at her trainer and shrugged. “What? I like to have fun, too.” From across the way, Naples was making a recovery from the peck attack. However, with his recovery came a really fierce growth in rage as he spouted hateful words towards Reid. Eyes wide, Reid watched in disbelief. “Jeez, you’re a real tickin’ time bomb,” she mocked. Out of Naple’s enraged little body shot another stream of bubbles.
“Get out of the way!” Carm yelled. Reid, still a bit hazy from the confusion, just barely dodged the bubblebeam. Using all the strength she had in her wings, the Taillow launched herself up in the air as the bubbles passed beneath her and barraged the bars of the bed. “Ha! I knew I was getting under his skin,” she cheered, watching the attack miss her from below. Unfortunately for Reid, her opponents had planned for this and a second bubblebeam attack was headed her way. “Reid!” Carm yelled, trying to warn her pokemon. Reid turned back around too late and made direct contact with the attack. The bubbles hit her rapidly in the air and only until the last bubble popped did she fall to the bed with a light thud.
Reid got a whole face full of water, making it difficult to lift her head. “Oof…alright, I fucked up, I'll admit it," she said as she wobbled back up to standing. Carm shook her head and sighed. At this point she’d give anything not to lose this match. Going into it nothing really mattered, but now Carm was riled up with pride. Things weren’t looking great, but she wasn’t about to give up. She owed it not only to herself but to her pokemon to win their first match. It was this battle that would establish her righteousness as a trainer.
“Let’s get it together, Reid,” Carm said with irritation etching into her voice. It didn’t seem like Reid had that much left in her, if she were being honest. Rather than have her get pumped up for another attack, she could use this time to weaken Naples for her next pokemon, Lady. It was strategic for sure, but she had to make sure her Taillow was up for it. “You game for one last go?” she asked Reid in a low voice.
Spitting out leftover bubblebeam water, Reid nodded. “Fuck yes, anything to wipe the smirks off their faces.” Carm’s heart leapt in this moment and really admired “in the thick of it” Reid. “Let’s go! Circle that Mantyke and give him your best growl! Then follow up with peck!” The Taillow nodded and, despite bodily pain, launched herself forward. She went right up to Naples and flew circles around him. After building up speed, Reid unleashed a growl as close as she could get to his head. Still circling, she waited for the most opportune moment to strike and went in for a peck attack.

▲ Summer - ? Yes, this round's almost won. thought Cello with a smirk. After Reid bit the dust, all he had to do was take out Carmilla's final pokemon, then he could claim victory. The silver haired man was thankful that Naples stuck it out this long, then again, he was a bit of a tank without realizing it, no? In the case of Tailow vs Mantyke, Tailow's flying type attacks wouldn't have such a drastic effect on Naples like other water pokemon. He was half flying, which meant such moves would only dish out normal damaged as opposed to a critical hit. Not that it mattered in this case, since Carmilla commanded Reid to use focus energy.
She's a smart bitch. She would make an excellent rival indeed, but such rivalry will start with Cello winning their very first pokemon battle. <"I wanna go swimming."> the Mantyke whined. <"I dun wanna battle anymore!"> Marcello could tell the kite pokemon was already tired from battling (even though it hasn't really been that long).
"Almost done, you've got this bird in the bag." The Tailow's next set of moves consisted of growl and a peck attack. Simple combination that lacked creativity. <"Don't hurt me!"> he exclaimed, covering his face with his winged fins at the sound of the bird's chirping growl. Cello nearly screamed as Reid dove in for the peck; "Stop covering your eyes! Look at what's in front of you!" Mantyke did as he was told, but doing so caused her eyes to bulge fearfully. <"Oh my god!!"> he screamed. "Use the bed, bounce right over her!"
Bouncing...He liked to bounce. Focusing his attention on his favorite activity in the world, Naples jumped up and down onto the mattress, using the cushion to launch himself up in the air and right over the bird. Cello couldn't believe it; "Yes! Yes! Now spin around and end this with another bubblebeam!"
Naples started to giggle at his success, turning back towards the Tailow and aiming another blast of bubbles her way.
Cello's heart peaked with adrenaline, proud of his baby Mantyke for working his ass off despite his fears. That meant the kite trusted him, which meant progress. Even though he wasn't the nicest guy, Cello had his own special bond with pokemon. He invested his time in their growth, and it honestly gave the eldest Vida a warm feeling every time. This brought him to his old pokemon team, a band of hard knocking pokes that knew how to scrap and throw a punch. NIchol, the strong and mighty Steelix, Titania the swift and graceful Mantine, Rapier, the stealthy Doublade., and Bianca, the deadly Cloyster....He missed them dearly. They were now in the capable hands of the Capulets.
Leaving Alto Mare was a tough move, but Marcello couldn't put the rest of the syndicate in jeopardy. Due to his high profiled conviction, the Capulet group has been put unto a microscope and purposefully laid low the three years Cello was serving jail time. After he got out, the man did his best to fly under the radar and live a normal life. After two years of that bullshit Cello had to get back into the game, he convinced his superiors he was able to carry out missions, and so the circus started up again.
It didn't take long for Cello to raise suspicion with the poliza. And after the last job he did went south, the Capulet head made the executive decision to banish Cello from Alto Mare until things definitively calmed down. He refused at first, but it was either exile or death. The Capulet's had him give up his pokemon so that he couldn't be easily identified in other regions just in case wanted posters made their way to foreign telephone poles. Tough times indeed...
Eyes glazing with faint tears, Cello dared not to get emotional. He was going to raise another team of baddies and be damn proud he was the trainer that did so.

MADE BY ★MEULK OF THQ | Reid winced when performing her growl attack, she was definitely losing her grip and was not happy about it. She wasn’t used to losing it and all she wanted to do was blame something else…or someone. Rationally, Reid understood this wasn’t Carm’s fault nor anyone else’s. She was just upset and her fleeting high from defeating Cello’s Popplio was long gone. Things were no longer looking up when the Mantyke bounced up in the air and dodged her peck attack. “Dammit!” Reid yelled when she realized she missed and got a face full of pillow. She punched her wing down against the bed and turned to stand up again, but her body betrayed her.
By the time Reid turned her head, Naples was sending another bubblebeam her way. With no other options, Reid attempted to roll out of the attack’s way but it was too painful. The bubblebeam made contact with a loud barrage, rendering the Taillow completely immobile. Each pop seemed to be more painful than the next and eventually Reid just stopped responding to the attack and laid limp on the bed. “Enough!” Carm yelled, removing Reid’s pokeball from her pocket and lifting it up in the air. “Reid, return!” A bright red light escaped and rescued the injured Taillow from any further damage. Carm was so incredibly proud of her pokemon and would be sure to thank her later for her hard work.
“They’re really really strong, Caramel,” Tot said, looking up at Carm with worried eyes. He was still a bit disappointed in his performance against the Popplio, and hated even more watching one of his teammates get hurt. It was hard for anyone to watch Reid, a pokemon with such a strong personality and raving confidence, lose in battle. The bird’s ego was probably a bit bruised, but hopefully it would lead to further growth. No matter what, though, Tot would never lose respect for her. He admired her and hoped to be as strong as her one day.
“Yeah, Tot, they’re strong. But they’re not unbeatable,” Carm assured him. Reaching into her pocket, Carm removed her last pokeball. This was her final play and it had to count. Tossing the ball up into the air, Carm called out, “Alright, Lady, it’s up to you!” The bright light from the pokeball faded and there stood her last pokemon, a Snubbull. Lady blinked, noticing Carm and Tot. “Helloooo! A good day to you, Carm! And to you, Tot! What have we here?” she greeted as she glanced around the room in awe. “Would you look at this place! It’s so…so…ME!” Lady’s oversized fangs made her speech impediment very evident, which caused her excitement to seem that much sillier.
Carm attempted a smile but she was feeling more stressed than friendly. “We can look around later, Lady, for now we’ve got some asses that need handing,” she informed her pup. Lady turned to see Cello and his Mantyke opposite them on the bed. “Ohhh,” she said, hopping up onto the bed and nodding in understanding. Taking a deep breath, Lady assessed the situation. She had this, for sure. “Greetings,” she said to her opponents, “I’m sorry to say, but this is the end of the road for you.” Her matter-of-fact attitude made Carm smile, giving her hope once more.
“That’s right, Lady! Now, get in there and charm the hell out of that Mantyke,” Carm commanded. The Snubbull sauntered her way over to her opponent’s side, flouncing her collar as her ears swayed back and forth. Once she got closer, Lady bat her eyelashes and gazed directly at Naples. “Great, now while he’s distracted hit him with a tackle attack!” Lady laughed, “Oh, you poor thing.” Immediately, she dropped the charm and launched herself towards Naples for a tackle.
