[attr="class","rostercat2"]Yami due to his upbringing acts one would expect him to act in an aristocratic manner. However, this is not so. Yami notably is a calm individual, rarely does he appear to show any expression, except that of boredom. He is the type to keep what he is feeling to himself, often putting on a fake smile in order to not worry others, his business smile. Even so rarely does he speak, unless necessary, when he does it is often in a calm, polite and gentle tone. Rarely does he speak in anger, or even show his anger, it is as if nothing can enrage him. Yami possesses a keen intellect and sharp mind, attributed thanks to his grandmother's efforts to raise him as a proper heir to a noble family. Yami is quick witted on his feet, rarely does he feel pressure, thanks to his grandmother's efforts, allowing him to think when under great strain. He is not particularly sharp-tongued, rarely will he take to fight with someone verbally or physically. The manner in which he speaks can only be described as non-threatening. He is not someone who is quick to violence, he will only resort to violence when there is no other. Yami is the type of help other's in need, especially when their moral rights aren't being allowed. He won't stand idly by and watch as an injustice occurs, he will be quick to leap in and help, only after assessing the situation to make sure who he is helping is in the right. He may be willing to help but he isn't the type to act before he thinks. Once he confirms a moral injustice is being performed he will attempt to step in. Yami feels especially protective towards little children. He is not sure why, or where he attributes this perhaps it's because he somewhat secretly wishes he had a little brother or sister. Because of this, he unveils his gentle side when interacting with those much younger than he, one could say he takes on the big brother role Yami is someone who always attempts to look on the positive, he never looks at the negative. This is attributed to the fact he considers death shadow to loom over him, with this why should he consider being negative. Life is too short to worry about the negatives in life, it is better to consider the positive in life and act accordingly. While he was studios with his family and carried a strict lifestyle without a chance to relax, this has changed since leaving. One could say he now possessed a somewhat lazy personality, taking the time to get tasks done, seeing no reason to rush simply wishing to enjoy himself. Yami takes things at his own slow pace, absorbing what life has to offer, admiring everything in life even down to the grass. He will often even just take the time to lay in the grass, under a tree or even by a lake and enjoys himself by sleeping the time away beneath the warm sun. Ultimately while Yami is taking life at his own pace to enjoy it, he still aims to become a strong Pokemon trainer. He won't step on others for his dream, but he won't let others step over him. He will push forward to achieve his dream. [attr="class","rostercatsub2"]PERSONALITY | [attr="class","rostercat2"]Yami was born in Mauville City to a family with a rich noble history, who descended from samurai. His family could trace their noble history back almost six hundred years across ten generations leading back to their families founder. The family had a strong traditional sense, any man who married into the family was required to take his wife's surname. However, Yami never knew who his father was as he left when he discovered Yami's mother was pregnant. As for his mother, she passed during childbirth leaving him without parents. This did not mean he was without family. Although small the Hateshignai family lived on with his uncle in Hoenn's Little Root town and his Maternal grandparents in Kanto's Saffron City. Yami's uncle, his mother's younger brother, was far too young to take in a child only twenty years young. It was decided Yami would go live with his Grandparents in Kanto. His uncle escorted him on the trip taking care of the young baby until they arrived in Saffron City handing responsibly over tot he grandparents. Yami's grandmother and grandfather happily took the young child in bringing him into their manor. The boy's grandfather happily doted on the little baby, while his grandmother began planning. As Matriarch, her husband had married in, it was her duty to ensure the new heir Yami was raised properly, this meant when it was the time he would need to learn proper etiquette. She would also have to prepare him to take over the family's estate include its business. The Hateshiginai were a family of entrepreneurs, spending their fortune taking great risks in order to receive great profit. Yami grew up as a shy child, often clinging to his grandfather. The two were inseparable, where ever Kenjiro, Yami's grandfather, went the young boy would follow. He would toddle after on unsteady legs following Kenjiro around the manor watching him interact with the staff or going out to potter around in the garden. The moment he could walk without aid and no longer crawled or stumbled he became his grandfather's little helper in the garden. He recalls these memories fondly. But by the time he turned six his happy childhood came to an end and Yami's grandmother took control. Natsuko, Yami's grandmother, pulled him away stating that it was now time for him to learn how to act like a proper noble. She started on his elocution lessons. It would not do for her heir to speak like some country bumpkin. From day one his studies were long and hard, he would rise early and go to bed late. His schedule was fixed with only breaks to eat, sleep and relieve himself. Natsuko was a harsh task master, while Kenjiro silently would encourage the boy, and at night enter Yami's room treating him with sweets behind the old woman's back. By the time he was ten, Natsuko had hired numerous teachers in order to give the boy the best education possible. He was to study mathematics, history, geology, writing, reading, calligraphy, art and proper manners day and night. He learned to ballroom dance by this age, even to identify wines, all to push him to be the ideal heir. It was during this same age Natsuko pushed him to learn the ways of the samurai-like their ancestors. He began studying martial arts specifically kendo and Jujutsu, accompanied by Archery and Horseback. It was only by the age of twelve did Yami finally catch a break. His grandfather after attempting to butter his wife for many years managed to persuade her to allow the boy an hour rest every day with a completely free day every Sunday. She had been reluctant but after carefully taking a look at how ragged she was running her grandson and how well he was doing she obliged. On his very first day off, Yami took off into the city accompanied by his grandfather for the first time in years. He took in the sights of Saffron City, this being his first time out of the manor. He was amazed by everything he saw, but the most amazing thing he saw that would be his first Pokemon battle. Yami had read about Pokemon and even seen the few that lived around the manor. The manor had a handful of Machoke stationed as guards, with Mightyena, the odd Linoone or two, Hoppip's, Squirtle's and Yami had even seen the occasional Bellsprout. The only ones Yami had ever played with had been the hoppips back in his grandfather's garden who would watch over him to make sure he didn't get in trouble. But this would be his first ever chance to witness a Pokemon battle. Yami even though he witnessed such a sight, never remembers the appearance of the trainers only their Pokemon. The only thing he can recall about the two trainers is one fancied the Bug type. As he arrived upon the scene with his grandfather he was amazed to see the sight of a giant red dragon, giant to him, face off against a large spider. Later he would learn their names Charizard and Ariados even, later their types. The Ariados while it has been at a type disadvantage its trainer was masterful in his commands, dominating over the other trainer's fire type. With quick precise attacks, attacking the fire types weak points the Ariados brought it down. The battle did not end there, it continued as each was to use six Pokemon each in an attempt to beat the other. Yami witnessed seven types of Pokemon and twelve individual creatures in total as they clashed. The bug trainer had trained his Pokemon well, his team and he was like a well-oiled machine. Ariados continued battling on claiming victory against the other trainer's Vaporean but was brought down by his Pidgeot. The flying type clashed with Butterfree both ending in a draw. Beedril battled against Steelix, the two fought hard, even with the disadvantage the giant bee pulled a win, but feel before the next match began having used up all its energy. Durant and Raichu were next to battle with the electric mouse suffering defeat. The final Pokemon to appear on the other trainer's team was the mighty dragon Dragonite. The dragon squashed the steel ant and put down the Heracross that came across it, both bug types gave it their all but could not defeat the dragon. Scizor was the final to appear, the mighty steel bug clashed with the terrifying strength of the dragon. Both Pokemon fought hard, but the Scizor delivered the final blow claiming victory for its trainer. On that day Yami became enthralled with Bug-type Pokemon he couldn't get enough. With his free time, he was always reading up on them. But under the persuasive guide of his grandfather studied up on other types as well, but his main focus was bugs. Many seemed to misunderstand them, calling them disgusting and weak, but he didn't care he loved them. Every Sunday since that fateful day, Kenjiro would hire in trainers allowing to interact with any Bug-type they possessed. He had many favourites amongst the bugs but all were equal in his eyes. A dream formed that year, a dream to become a Pokemon trainer but it was squashed by his grandmother. Years continued to pass and on his sixteenth birthday, Natsuko decided it was time for Yami to begin his studies in commerce and law. She forced him to put away any nonsense he had of becoming a trainer, saying he would follow the path she set for him. Natsuko would not have any silly business about him becoming a Pokemon trainer. To her, it was but a simple waste of time. She had indulged him enough for four years now it was time for him to focus on the family. For two years Yami studied in the area of business commerce and law. He was taught to find loopholes and how to exploit them. It was a dreary time for him, as Yami did not enjoy it. To him it was boring, there was no fun involved. Every day he would dream of being free and travelling the world, catching Pokemon and participating in battles. Each dream was different, and every time his team of Pokemon changed but they all had one theme in common Bug-types. He had not lost his love of bugs. But not long after his eighteenth birthday tragedy struck. During a routine check-up, Yami's blood pressure was abnormally high, a blood sample was taken and tests conducted. It was discovered his Kidney's were beginning to fail, the cause unknown. Somehow he had caught an infection, causing inflammation of the kidney's making the tissue scar, die and shrink to half their size. Yami was taken to hospital where further tests were conducted, but no cause could be found. With the help of a biopsy, a sample from the right kidney was retrieved for study. The doctors attempted to repair the kidney's through prescribed medication, but nothing seemed to work it only slowed the deterioration down. They estimated in three years time the Kidney's would fail completely and Yami would be in desperate need of a transplant. A decision was made to transplant a kidney close to his nineteenth birthday, but problems occurred. A kidney donated by his closest genetic match, his uncle, was rejected Yami's body. They used medical steroids in order to stop the rejection, it worked but the kidney was in a sad state working at half capacity leaving him with three failing kidneys. The doctors were stunned unable to comprehend what happened. Yami, however, began to reassess his life, while the doctors and his family discussed what to do. Yami evaluated his life, all he knew was how to be the Hateshiginai heir and the inside of a manor. his childhood had been a waste and his dream had been crushed. With the shadow of death looming over him Yami took on a determined look. He bided his time plotting and once his grandparents had returned home, in that brief moment Yami discharged himself. He was eighteen a legal adult, and he had saved up enough money, from his weekly allowance, to go out on his own. Yami retrieved a year's worth of prescription medicated receipts with the necessary repeats for his failing kidney's and took what savings he had left, buying a ticket for the Inset region. Yami was determined to achieve his goal, experience life and never look back. He would begin it all in the Inset region. [attr="class","rostercatsub2"]HISTORY |
