So far, it seemed like today was going to be a day just like most others. The ranger station had been relatively quiet the last few days, and when trainers had showed up there had been plenty of other rangers chomping at the bit to help them with what they'd stopped in to do whether it be catch a Pokemon, do some research on the Pokemon they currently had inhabiting the biomes, or attempt to pick up a starter. She'd always been preoccupied with something much less boring, taking care of something in a different room, or coming back from the bathroom and by the time she realized they'd had guests someone else had already swooped in to relieve their own boredom. Well, today wouldn't be the same as the rest. This time, she'd be ready.

In preparation for the wait ahead of her, Mimi had gone to the bathroom only at the start of her shift. She'd been resisting snacking too much, and only drank water when it was absolutely needed. She and her partner Shirley the Chimecho had been staking out the front door since they'd arrived that morning, carefully keeping an eye on it in shifts. There was no way they were going to miss a trainer this time. Really, all they would have had to do was ask the head ranger in that day if they could help the next person. A thought so simple wasn't likely to occur to Mimi, though, so the others just let her continue with what she was doing. Just as she was starting to waver a bit in her decision to stave off snacking and eat up a handful of crackers she'd been glaring holes into for the past twenty minutes, she heard Shirley's warning chime.

< Quick! Somebody's coming! > Mimi stood fast, nearly knocking her chair over with the force with which she rose to her feet. She had to quickly cover her mouth with her hand, muffling the snort she'd made when the visitor had nearly run into the sliding doors in his haste to get inside. Looked like someone was just as eager for action as her, or they were just incredibly oblivious to their surroundings. Considering he hadn't taken the time to reach out to anybody at all and had simply started rooting through his bag and dumping things over the front desk without paying anybody in the lobby the slightest mind, she guessed it was the latter. Ah well, she could deal with oblivious types.Then again, in her experience they caused a lot more trouble than the actual troublemakers. Not paying attention to your surroundings in some of the biomes could lead to big problems. Well, whatever happened, she and Shirley would probably be able to handle it.

After a few moments of letting the visitor sort through his things, she approached the desk. It seemed he still hadn't noticed her presence initially, so she rapped on the hard wood of the desk he'd been bent over to get his attention. "Yo! You're a fresh face, don't think I've seen you around these parts before. You here for business or pleasure?" she chuckled to herself at her own lame joke, glancing down at his documents before back up at the guy. "My gut's telling me business." She held out her hand to him, a big grin on her face. "Name's Mimi! For real though, what brings you out to the ranger station today?"
