Well, Willy could tell you it was a pain and a half to get to the ranger station, but if it meant getting a pokemon then it sure would be worth it. Her mother and father had tried to ply off one of their old trainer pokemon on her, even offered to spot her some cash if she wanted to buy from one of their breeder friends, but since Willy was going to be joining the rangers, it made the most sense to go out and get her hands dirty.
A part of her was excited by the prospect of wrangling a pokemon, as if it was going to be here in a field with a beautiful wild mustang, nothing but nature and Willy.
For some reason the daydream also included over-alls, though Willy was wearing her standard uniform at the moment. That is her favorite pair of home-made jorts and a tank layered over one of her neon sports bras. (Because she wanted to be classy for this. Any other day she went out when it was this blazing hot was going to be met with a whole lot of Willy's abs.) The girl shaded her eyes as she scanned the scenery, looking out for the outpost amid the wilds. She had some sort of paperwork in her hands from the recruitment lady back home, but it was starting to get all wrinkled and just a little bit sweaty from her clammy hands.
Needless to say, she needed to make this quick before it got any more disgusting.
Willy could almost hear her older sister's voice in her head. (Her older sister often standing in for her mother, as it happens when you are in a family of six children, and your mother was currently busy with a screaming infant.) "Don't be a fucking disaster, Wilfreda. Try to be normal."
Willy had normal written all over her, from her curly hair to the tips of her tan, paint chipped toes peaking out from the holes in her nice crocs. The problem was she wasn't sure if the pokemon wrangling was going to be her test of talent, or if she had to wrangle the pokemon, train it up, and then come back to prove she wasn't inept.
Because at this point, despite having challenged quite a few pokemon and people to wrestling matches, Willy didn't know much about fighting or anything like that, except for the stories and the old videos of her parents in the height of their trainer days. And those had just been for punishment more than anything else.
But all is well that ends well right? No need to worry, Willy would figure it out. But now, pokemon. With an itch beneath her skin, the girl climbed the steps to the headquarters, eyes sweeping back and forth. As soon as she spotted some kind of ranger, she raised her hand in greeting.
"Oi! My name's Willy an' I'm looking to get a pokemon and sign up and all that, yeah?"
Smooth and normal. Good work there, Willy.

IN MY HEART DRIP DROP YOU FALL ONE BY ONE It had taken awhile but the air conditioning had finally been fixed in the main building. Of course immediately after Kieron had ended up having to go out on a mission. But now he was back behind the desk and as much as he disliked being in the forefront of the building at least he could take this time to cool down. There were plenty of new recruits out there getting their bearings on becoming rangers and getting the training necessary and he had been helping to guide them through their first few missions. It was strange and felt like just yesterday that he was a jaded man coming in looking for a second start. It was more common than you thought that someone with nowhere else to turn would turn to the rangers for a way of living. And then of course you got the energetic youth that just simply wanted to try for the thrill of it all. Of course it would be the latter that he would be dealing with today. Still sore from a couple of mishaps with the missions he wasn't as bright eyed and cheery as most of the rangers. Then again he was never that bright eyed and cheery. Ever. With a small sigh he grabbed one of the clipboards. "Fill this out. Paperwork first and then you get to go get a starter Pokemon." So long as everything checked out. "Have you had experience with Pokemon before? And you know the rules right? First Pokemon you see in the biome is your starter... No matter what it might be." There were all sorts of Pokemon in their care and it wasn't unusual to have something strange pop up as a starter choice. Some people came in here thinking they would automatically get something rare and that simply just wasn't the case. No one knew what you would get stepping into that elevator. Not even the rangers. tags x frog yo MADE BY โ

Willy was smiling widely, probably obnoxiously. This was a big deal, wasn't it? Of course the man in front of her wasn't very bright eyed or cheery, but other people being a damp blanket never put a damper on things for Willy. No she shone too bright for that. Her siblings always tended to find that annoying, especially her older ones when they weren't through the moody phases. Of course it was to their horror she seemed to skip hers entirely, but that was probably because Willy was too busy noticing how pretty girls were to be bothered with all that dark and broody stuff, yeah.
Nope Willy was just always like this. Born bright as the morning sun, her mother used to say.
She accepted the outstretched clipboard with one of her hands. "Always have to be doing the paperwork, eh?" She scrawled all over the paper, her handwriting large and barely legible, basically the sort of scribbles you would expect from a first grader. She decided to use her full name, but over top of it she wrote "Willy" in big letters, then highlighted it with a smiley face. "Experience? Grew up surrounded by pokemon of pretty much every shape and size, yeah. Parents were retired trainers running a day care service out of the house, so I'll expect you can imagine what kind of a free for all it was. I'd help out best I could, but I liked playin' with 'em more than just taking care."
Willy took this moment to flex her arm. "Nothin' like wrasslin' with a couple scraggy to getcha nice and fit, haha! And those rules are right-o with me. Never had a particular preference for anything. As long as it breathes it'll suit me such fine. Beggars can't be choosers and all that, yeah?"
Growing up with a huge family meant that whatever she got she treasured. Plus, those snobs who turned their nose up at rattata could go shove their self-righteous attitude right up their arses. With that, Willy handed back the clipboard. "Time for adventure, yeah?"

IN MY HEART DRIP DROP YOU FALL ONE BY ONE At least the kid had some experience. People who came in here without any sort of clue as to what they were doing were generally harder to work with. They had an idealized version of how things were supposed to be rather than how they actually were. Gathering up the last few things he needed to travel into the biome he listened to her talk. He might have seemed indifferent but he took his job of helping new trainers get their starter Pokemon very seriously. Especially since a lot of these Pokemon were rescues themselves. Even if they weren't screening for who came into get a starter was important. Taking them into an environment full of Pokemon was a trust thing that they needed to be able to build upon. But for now he seemed satisfied with the answers. Of course depending on what happened later on in the encounter it could change. But for now he was satisfied. Grabbing what would be the new trainer's starter kit and Anise's Pokeball he headed towards the large elevator. It only took him twice to get his passcode put in this time. Luckily he wouldn't have to call Ben to come unlock the system for him again due to his own carelessness. "Whenever you're ready get in and grab a Pokeball." He stepped inside himself with the Gloom following quickly. She was excited to get a go on this. It was fun to help a trainer get a new Pokemon. Waving at the new girl she hoped that she would find the absolute perfect partner just for her! Of course the dual type was firm in her belief that everyone always found just who they needed in the biomes. tags x frog yo MADE BY โ

Wow, this guy really wasn't a talker was he? Letting Willy babble on and on. And Willy wasn't mad about it, after-all she really enjoyed talking. You had to when you had a family her size. And you better like doing it loud, because when you all gather around for dinner, especially once the older ones decided to do crazy things like get ready and reproduce. Big holidays tend to be crazy and wonderful for it.
Or maybe this guy didn't like chatting because this was his job, and he was tired. Either way he would be chewed up and spit out by her family. She almost laughed at it, but had enough sense of decorum not to.
So Willy will just fill the space, because that's what she does. She takes up space with her loud clothes and her loud voice and her wide legged stance. "Well, I'm ready to go as soon as you are! Excited to see what you all have out here. Though I expect there's a little bit of everything, yeah?"
Willy followed after Kieron, reaching out to pluck the one pokeball that would hold her fate, and future partner. She looked at it, smiled to herself, and imagine what kind of pokemon would fit in it. Would that be bright, happy, gloomy, or angry? The thought thrilled her, and the prospect of adventuring together made her jittery in the good way.
"Oh, and hello there. A... gloom, eh? Well its mighty nice to meet you, then. I expect you'll be joining us on this adventure then?" After-all, was there any rule against chatting with her? If there was Willy thought it was a mighty stupid joke.

IN MY HEART DRIP DROP YOU FALL ONE BY ONE Anise of course was much more talkative than her partner. It was part of what made them work well together. < I'm here to help out if things start to go south! Sometimes we run into some wild Pokemon that aren't too keen on being friends... > It was hard to deal with those kinds of Pokemon in a starter setting but that didn't mean that they still wouldn't make good partners. The grass type let out a small giggle. < You have to excuse Kieron, he's not big on talking after all! > The elevator began to move when all of the party settled inside of it. Straight down it went. Tilting only slightly to the left letting him know that they were going to one of the deeper biomes. As long as it wasn't the haunted house again he would be fine with it. He couldn't handle two trips there in such a short amount of time. He had gotten lucky the first after all... Finally the elevator rocked to a sudden stop, creaking slightly before the door opened though once again it was dark inside. Dull lights glowed from the inside of the cavernous expanse. Though it wasn't caused by lanterns but rather by mushrooms that gave off a natural small light. That was so that Pokemon sensitive to light wouldn't be disturbed by it and the rangers could still see their way around. The cave seemed safe enough, of course they wouldn't have a dangerous biome just in itself. That could potentially hurt the Pokemon. The sound of rocks and dirt moving about further into the cavern let the trio know that someone was already there to greet them. Whether they knew it or not. MADE BY โ
