[attr="class","rostercat2"]+ Heroic - Caden has always wanted to be a superhero. Having been fed stories of them by his parents when he was a kid, its no surprise that he idolizes those people in tights. So, it also shouldn't be a surprise that he tries to emulate them in everyday life the best he can. Caden really does strive to be a hero. He doesn't want to do it for fame or glory, but he just wants to keep people safe. As imagined, you can expect him to do a lot of things that a hero would do- be brave, selfless, think about others first... It can be hard and sometimes he messes up, but he really does have good intentions. + Decisive - One of things that Caden is really good at is making snap of the moment decisions. No one has time to think everything out if a knife is pointed at someone and time in limited, after all. His choices might not always be the best ones, but he will go for the smartest option that he can see at the time. Sure, there might have been a better option, but you can always find something better to do in retrospect. Caden is a man of action, though, and even one seconds delay can lead to consequences if you're not careful. + Honest - Its not really so much that Caden is some person who never tells a lie, its more than its just impossible for him. Caden isn't a good liar, at all. He isn't the person you want on some super secret mission, because he will get flustered and have his cover blown in three seconds. He knows this, so his way of thinking is 'if I never bother lying, then no secrets to spill by accident.' + Resourceful - Being a quick thinker means that Caden is pretty good at figuring out quick fixes to things. He's good at find answers to problems that others might not with stuff on hand or use things in a different way than expected. Sure, shoving a sock into a hole won't keep the cold from getting in forever, but it'll do until you can get someone out to come fix it. + Thorough - Mostly with his job, anyway. Caden isn't someone known for being particularly patient, but that doesn't stop him when it comes to important stuff. Missing just one small detail could lead to the wrong person taken down or someone getting away. He doesn't want that to happen. So, for the few things he's actually willing to take his time with, you better believe he does a damned good job of it. - Rash - Under pressure, Caden is a good person to rely on for making split second choices. Outside of that, you better keep an eye on him. Quick to choose, quick to judge, quick to anger... Caden is willing to jump into anything head first just because he doesn't think it out. Its led to a lot of egg on his face and embarrassment, but its something that won't change anytime soon. - Impatient - He might be fine with taking his own damn time with things, but leaving Caden waiting is another story. He has no chill, and having to wait on something kills him. Be it something long term like waiting for an egg to hatch or even something as simple as microwaving a burrito, he'll be jittery with eagerness long before its done. Its one of the things that gets him into trouble, because he tends to get distract himself by getting into trouble or wandering off when he doesn't need to when he gets like that. - Quick to Anger - Caden is quite the temperamental fellow. Its easy to piss him off or work him up. He's always been that person to wear his emotions on his sleeves, easy to tell if he's happy or sad or if something is bothering him. Hell hath no fury like Caden when he's pissed, though. He's not especially violent, but he tends to get frustrated and yell and not think the things he says through. Its led to him saying hurtful things he didn't really mean and regretted later, losing friends and even making a few enemies. - Sensitive - Caden loves to tease people. Its one of his favorite things. Just because he can serve it up with the best of them doesn't mean he can take it. He tends to get flustered easily and takes a lot of what people say to heart. Sure, he puts on a tough act like anyone else would, but he refuses to let anyone see if something bothers him. Its easier to just let people think whatever is said just rolls off his back, but the only problem is the guy can't act to save his life. Romance and the like are a particularly sore subject for him, and teasing over something as simple as a crush will send him into a blushing fit. He's a huge avoid-ist when it comes to stuff like that and is prone to running off to avoid whatever it is that's said. - Blunt - Being the honest fellow that he is, being blunt can have a lot of downfalls. Caden is simple in words and thought; he's not a deep thinker by any means. He says whats on his mind and only rarely beats around the bush with anything. He has no tact and has upset a lot of people with his frank words. On one hand, it can upset him that he hurt someone's feelings, but on the other he's of mind that 'they shouldn't have asked if it they didn't want the truth'. [attr="class","rostercatsub2"]PERSONALITY | [attr="class","rostercat2"]Caden has a pretty good life starting out. A nice middle class home in the big city of Castelia, two loving parents, not wanting for anything... life was good for him when he was a kid. His mom was the primary breadwinner, a businesswoman who was out of the house a lot but made up for it with lots of hugs and kisses. His dad was a retired police officer, having been wounded a year or so before Caden had been born and unable to return to service. His dad kept up with the work around the house and took care of him. It was nice. His parents had a strong sense of honor, both of them. They wanted to help people the best they could, donate time and money and effort to help everyone who was willing and needed it. They taught Caden from a very young age to care of others, to be the brave hero that everyone needed and not be afraid. He loved them so much it hurt sometimes. His life was set out to be a pretty average one. He was put into school when he was of age, and he was never a model student but he did well enough. He always dreamed of being a police officer like his dad, to be a superhero and keep the city safe from crime. Life isn't fair, though. It never is. Caden was eight when he lost them. His mom to death and his dad to jail. It was one of the rare times that his mom was home, and she had wanted to cook dinner that night. So, she was in the kitchen baking a roast and other delicious things while he and his father were in his room reading comic books. It wasn't that late, not really, but it was dark out. The neighborhood they lives in was supposed to be safe. There was a loud crash of breaking glass, then his mom screaming. His dad got him and put him in the closet. 'Don't come out, Caden. Not for anyone.' He said, closing the door. All Caden could hear were sounds of a struggle, and he started to cry. It seemed like he was in there forever. Yelling, another tussle, then nothing. A robber had broken into their house. Been surprised by his mother. She was killed. His father had wrestled the weapon from the robber and used it in return. It was a quick trial, and even though Caden's father had been defending himself and his home, killing a man still had a steep price. He was put away, jailed. Caden was sent to live with his aunt in another part of the city. He wasn't the same after that. Having been raised on stories of good versus evil, of the good guy always winning, he didn't understand why his dad was in trouble. He was the good guy, right? The reason that it had to have been the police's fault. They had done it on purpose because his dad didn't work for them anymore. It was childish and naive, but those thoughts grew into a huge resentment of authority- especially the police. He knew he could do better, be a hero better than they could. He was determined to prove it. He stayed in Castelia with his aunt. His aunt loved Caden very much, she really did, but there was only so much the woman could do on her own. Caden grew up and 'left' on his Pokemon journey; given his mom's Sigilyph and his dad's Foongus to take care of. But he never really left the city. He stayed there, did what he could to help people who needed it. He couldn't do a lot at first. He was too small, too weak. A lot of the time he stayed in the desert to the north, in the old ruins. They were a safe place. He would visit his aunt occasionally, tell her of all the places he had been and what he had seen... even though what he was telling her was a lie. He was determined to do what he felt the police couldn't. Caden turned into something of a vigilante. Not some masked idiot in tights. By the time he was sixteen, he had quite the reputation. Some idiot kid with white hair who would meddle around in stuff; he really was lucky to never get seriously hurt. He had a pretty good track record of taking the 'bad guys' down before someone else could arrive on the scene. Everything turned sour for him one night right before he turned eighteen. Stalking the streets late one night, Caden stumbled upon a woman being backed into an alleyway by a bunch of men. He charged, like any other time, determined to get her out of trouble. The woman got away, barely, but he didn't. He fought the good fight, but was outnumbered and quickly taken down. If the police hadn't arrived, he would have been beaten to death most likely. Turns out the woman had called the police right after she got away, they had saved him. Even with his wounds and good intentions, he was still in trouble. Mostly for past transgressions. He was patched up and probably would have been locked away, for a short time, but then someone approached him. Someone who said they could keep him out of trouble if he agreed to help them. The Rangers. They needed more rookies like him, full of spirit and passion, who could get a job done. While they couldn't just wipe his record, they would give him a job and train him if he agreed to do his best. Caden was livid, but with no other options he agreed. Cue the next few years of what he considered hell. Sure, he was eager, but he still had issues with authority. All he wanted to do was beat people up and make them pay for their crimes. That wasn't how things went, though. He needed to shape up. It took Caden a long time to get over himself. But when he did, it was so freeing. He really wasgood at beating people up, but it took more than just having a strong uppercut to take down a perp. While he studied and learned all the skills that an agent would need, he took extra care to learn all the fighting he could. If someone had to be the guy known for punching people, why not him? Then the others could concentrate on other important things. He picked up any classes he could, both inside the agency and outside, to learn new and better ways to cause pain. He would apply it to his training, try and figure out how doing one thing might help with something else. No one can ever say that Caden doesn't have passion. Eventually Caden raised himself in Rank enough that he could transfer somewhere else. He had never really out that much thought into it, but weren't the Rangers in Inset supposed to be real hard asses? He wanted to be like them, since they were some of the most famous. So, he put in all his chips into that bag, even going as far as leaving his prized Pokemon with his aunt. Wasn't he surprised when he moved to Inset and has his Ranger Liscense revoked... // Extra Caden is a vegetarian. He's had issues with meat ever since what happened with his mother, since she was cooking at the time. Its not that he doesn't like the taste or is morally against it, its that the smell of cooking meat just reminds him of that day and bothers him. Other than that, he isn't all that picky, which can be surprising to some. Its no surprise that Caden isn't all that good at delicate work with his hands. He's not patient enough, for one, and gets frustrated too easily. Despite that, he is a surprisingly good cook. His cooking isn't anything special in his opinion, but he kept an old family cookbook that his mother treasured after he left his Aunt's. Its yellow and worn and its been a tradition in his family for generations to learn whats inside as well as add his own recipes to pass on to his own children someday, if he ever has any. He's taken it upon himself to learn every recipe and tip inside of it. His cooking is good in a homey, 'like mom would make' comforting way. Its a rusty skill from when he was younger, but Caden is actually a pretty good lock-pick. Of course, he could never measure up to something extra complex or sophisticated. Give him a padlock or normal door and a piece of wire and he can get you inside, though. He's also pretty good with window latches. Its not something he does very often anymore other than to screw around with people he knows, plus its not Caden's job to be sneaky anyway. Its Caden's job to be a brute. You would never tell by looking at him, but there is a good chance that despite his lithe frame he can kick your ass six ways to Sunday. Every since joining Interpol he's put a lot of time and effort into different combat skills. Martial arts of various kinds, boxing, wrestling; When not on missions, Caden spends most of his time practicing these moves or working out to keep his body strong. He's also good at 'street' fighting and knows his way around a knife, which can be useful. Caden is proud of his abilities, but he's also proud that he rarely has to actually use them. His main, most practiced skill is actually being able to disarm fugitives without getting him or those around him hurt. All the combat skills are just supplementary to help an end goal of taking people in without anyone getting hurt. After all, just punching a guy with a knife will just put everyone at risk. Its better to stun them with a whack to the chest (knocking the air out of them) and pinning them/disarming them while they're down. It's a deep dark secret of Caden's that... he's actually really good at Ballet. He decided to take lessons in it a few years ago after he heard that some people do it to become quicker on their feet. He was skeptical, but found that it actually worked so he's been keeping them up ever since. No one really knows about this and he's pretty embarrassed to admit it to anyone. Unsurprisingly, Caden has a pretty extensive knowledge of comic book superheros and similar. He's quite the nerd for them, and boasts a pretty nice collection of both them and memorabilia. Its not something he talks about often, but he's not embarrassed of it either. Caden tends to speak with a pretty heavy Unovan accent. He also knows a lot about the native pokemon there, from stupid stuff to how a Purrloin from the north is different from one in the south to actual useful knowledge. He's never really researched Pokemon in depth before, though. He doesn't know many pokemon that aren't native in his home region; or at least, he doesn't know them well.
