Al had heard some kind of commotion about a new swarm, appearing in inset. Really he had every intention of actually looking this time, since the last time they had shown up he had managed to get himself lost too long that the pokemon had fled before he had even gotten the chance to do so. The male had been frustrated with himself for a week. The chance to gain new pokemon was too important to him to let himself be so stupid and not take the chance that had been given so easily.
So here he was out in the open looking for swarms this time. After not finding anything for the first hour he had finally been irritated enough to ask someone about it. The trainer seemed to see almost frightened from the other but thankfully he had submitted and told the other he was looking in the wrong area. "It's supposed to be baby pokemon so you have to look over there." he told the older pointing to where he needed to go. Al couldn't help but twitch but the kid quickly fled the minute he could.
"What the hell is so special about baby pokemon?" he growled a little but all the same he moved in the direction he was told. The dratini he had in the pokeball was released a moment after and reminding himself he pulled out the egg he had received lately, a mareep he was told. He wasn't sure what was special about a sheep but hey it was better than the other egg he was given. A sheep would actually be useful right? Honestly he had no damn idea.
Yet as he was thinking it seemed that suddenly a small squeak came from not far away as suddenly something pulled on his pant leg. A small ray like thing seemed to be there and tried to play tag with the human. However when Al showed no sign of playing it moved instead to the dragon that had been released moving to use its "arms" to pull at the fins which only served to make Dratini mad.
'Back off kid, do you not know who I am?' the Dratini suddenly said as the mantyke was pushed away. The small thing seemed like it was about to cry, but Al got the idea this was what they were looking for. At least one of them, so he had to do something quick before he lost it again. "Hey how about this, we'll play with you. How about a battle?" he said with as fake a smile he could muster.
The little ray seemed interested a little too naive to actually realize what a battle really meant. "Alright Dratini, let's go first. A leer then a wrap. " he called. The dragon grinned some squirming his snake like body. <"Of course you would choose that, it's my best technique."> he said ignoring the fact that it was... his only techniques. The dragon moved now jolting forward glaring at the small ray like pokemon. It scared the baby, more than... it probably should have.
It wasn't fighting - it was honestly trying to run away. At least it was trying to, until the tail of the snake wrapped around the creature and squeezed. A small weak cry coming from the ray, it obviously wasn't much of a fighter and struggled uselessly instead of actually attacking. Al felt actually kinda bad for attacking something that wouldn't attack back and after biting his lip. "Dratini let it go!" he called. The snake almost looked startled but that caused it to drop the child pokemon anyway.
<"What are you doing? We are obviously the best so why are we stopping?"> he asked obviously not pleased by what had just happened. Instead Al shook his head and moved to the pokemon reaching a gentle hand to pat it's head. "Don't worry, we are going to take you to get healed okay? That won't happen anymore.. no more fighting." he said. The small ray had a few tears in it's arms, but it was too hurt to have a choice in the matter. Yet it also seemed so naive that it trusted the trainer even after he had just fought with him.
The little ray nodded as Al moved a pokeball to its body and tapped it on the pokemon as a the red light absorbed the creature and absorbed it inside the ball. Now he just had to wait to see if it actually stayed inside and maybe actually get a real battle, since this one probably didn't give his dragon that much training.
