how pokemon spawning and modding works here is that you make a [spawn] thread and then post it here for a staff to spawn you a pokemon.

when a staff picks it up, we will drop in the species, level, moveset, ability, personality and even a special scenario to rp out if we feel inclined. you must then rp out the pokemon joining your team. this can be through friendship, battling and catching, or whatever other wacky scenarios you can imagine. the rarer a pokemon is, the harder it is to catch and the harder staff will judge your posts. for rare pokemon, you can expect to make more than 1 quality post in order to earn your pokemon.

we have two levels of staff involvement for spawn threads.

one is personality. staff will post in a pokemon and give you three personality traits. you must showcase these three traits in the wild pokemon in your post. from here, we have freeform or scenario posts. if we post up a scene or theme for the post, you must also include that in your post. if we say it is freeform, you can use whatever scenario you want!

the second level is that staff will rp back and forth with you as the pokemon to play out the capture. this is at staff's discretion to do so, and will more often be used for more rare pokemon or special cases, like dual spawn threads.

you are free to make suggestions to what you want in these threads, but staff is under no obligation to spawn them for you. if we feel you haven't earned a rare pokemon from your first post or from previous efforts, you will be spawned something else. even if you requested something and earned it, you still might be spawned something else.

when you need a new pokemon spawned or are attempting to catch a pokemon and need it judged, post below and a staff will get to you as soon as we can. we will get to them as often as we can, but please understand it can take us time.

[swarm] threads work a little bit differently than regular spawn threads. each swarm, you can catch 3 of the 6 pokemon swarming. you can catch 1 of the rares, 1 of the uncommons, and 1 of the commons. if you wanted to catch both uncommons, you would have to give up your rare catch. you could not give up your common catch to get the second uncommon. ie; you cannot give up a lower rarity swarm catch to catch a higher rarity swarm pokemon, but you can give it up to catch a lower one.

during swarms, you spawn the pokemon yourself! staff do not and will not spawn a pokemon for you. you have free reign of the pokemon's personality, gender, moveset, ect. however, there are rules to this:

1. the pokemon can not be over level 10
2. it cannot have a hidden ability
3. it cannot know egg moves, tm moves, move tutor moves, or level up moves higher than what level it currently is
4. it cannot be shiny
5. it cannot have mutations unless approved by staff
6. pokemon spawned in this method cannot be wonder traded until a month after the capture date

after you have spawned your own pokemon, and make sure you post its stats in the thread, you will rp out catching it just like any other spawn thread. this should all be in one post. post here when you are done, and a mod will tell you if you caught it or need to continue the thread to earn the spawned pokemon.

you may only have 1 active spawn and 1 active swarm thread per character at a time!

under normal circumstances, if you do not want a pokemon you must still rp out the interactions with it and pass our judgment to move on to the next one. you cannot pass on a pokemon.

however, you can sometimes find or buy Pass Orbs, which will let you do this hassle free. these items are rare and hard to get your hands on.

keep in mind that using a Pass Orb will not count for one of the encounters you need to move on to another area!
