@mod, wc 650, looking for pokemon egg thread for bruxish, ferroseed & ducklett It hadn't been five minutes into the first leg of his journey and somehow he had managed to gather more eggs than Pokemon. Three of them tucked away in his bag as he tried not to think about how he had become the ultimate egg babysitter. Though he figured if he was going to be a breeder this was at least a decent start to that profession. Though it would probably be a better start if he actually knew what was inside of these eggs. The brightly colored one he had pushed out actual cash for just because the guy had told him it was some rare water type. That was something he was entirely interested in since he loved the water type thing. They were elegant and graceful and he was sure that whatever was in this egg had to be the same. The other two he was absolutely stumped on though. How the hell was he supposed to know what was in a baby blue egg like this and a... Metal? One? This shit was confusing and he didn't care for the moment. As long as they came out beautiful he didn't care. What he did care about was the fact that he needed a break from carrying them all. He would have had Dorito carry something but being an ice type he was pretty sure that wouldn't be good for eggs that needed to be kept nice and toasty. The lake seemed to be a good spot to take a break. Peaceful and quiet as could be. A change from the city for sure. Carefully he set the bag down, checking on the eggs to make sure that they were still in one piece from all of that walking around. "Seems good enough." Carefully he pulled off his shoes and socks, not wanting to ruin them by getting them wet. They were the best walking shoes he had been able to afford before coming here and so far they had been worth the money. He'd been used to being on his feet a lot during shoots so he was sure that he wasn't as bad off as he could have been with the whole thing. Next was making sure that the eggs would be absolutely safe. Pressing the button on a Pokeball he let Dorito out to enjoy the weather as well. "Make sure nothing happens to the eggs." They'd worked together well in the biomes and Soren hoped that it would continue through their journey. Of course as long as they eggs continued to stay safe she could feel free to do whatever she wanted in the meantime. < Kay. >Dorito watched her partner begin to wade into the water. She didn't have a problem with needing to quell the summer heat since she was an ice type and swimming in the water herself would probably cause more harm than good considering. So she focused on instead playing with some of the tall grass around the lake. Maybe she could build something fun to play in with all of this grass? Something to keep the eggs nice and happy too. She began to pluck it, stacking it beside her so that she could carry it back all at once. Or have Soren carry it after he got done splashing around in the water like a silly.
Soren had to admit that the water felt nicer than he was expecting. Sure the deeper he got the colder it was but it was more than worth it. Up to his knees in the water he pulled his shirt off and tossed it hard towards the shore, hoping that it wouldn't land in the water and giving a silent cheer whenever it hit the drier shore instead. At least that seemed to be going alright... He was totally going to be able to ace this Pokemon journey thing.MADE BY ★MEULK

< You're so smart, Mila! > Q gushed, prancing in step with her trainer, making sure to actually watch where she was going now that they were well out of town. The compliment was due to the brilliant idea Mila had come up with on a backtrack into Cassiopeia for a quick shopping trip. Along with some more supplies for the road after studying the map and seeing just how far the first route was, she'd also bought a pack meant for parents with infants - instead using the sling to haul her two eggs held safely to her chest and leaving her hands free and her bag with more room. After the tumble she'd taken on the outskirts of town she wasn't taking any chances!
"Naw, just practical! I dunno why I didn't think of it before!" she said, reaching into her pocket for a treat to toss down to the eager rockruff. The pup had already gained more confidence in the way she carried herself now that they were out of that stuffy lab - and Mila hadn't bothered putting her back in her pokeball just yet. She would refrain from that until Q asked for it specifically if she got tired or something. And even then she figured she could fit her in with the eggs too if she did some shifting. Her starter was her companion and she wanted to make sure she was comfortable! Wild pokemon would be a different story until she got them trained and trusting of her....
Up ahead a lake came into view once they crested the hill they'd been climbing. The quickest path would be to cut straight through the reedy grass. She was sure Q could use some cool refreshment and she wasn't opposed to it herself. Splashing in the lake made her eyes squint as she tried to figure out if she was seeing a pokemon or a person. It was honestly hard to tell from this distance. Should she stay on the path and walk twice as far or head that way now? She glanced down at Q who had stopped in step with her and couldn't help but to toss her another treat for heeling naturally. The pup with the ring of rocks on her ruff leapt and caught it in midair, tail wagging and whipping dust off the dirt path.
"I know you can't see it but there's a lake down this way, let's go check it out! I'm not sure what it'll be like from here on - and we've been on the path this long...wouldn't you like to see what other pokemon are out there?" she asked, kneeling a bit to give Q a scratch behind the ears. Q looked to the unknown of the tall grasses that grew along the path, quaking a bit already. < C-could you carry me? > she asked, sounding as pitiful as ever. So much for the gains in confidence.
Mila sighed but nodded, scooping the pup up and moving the eggs to one side to slip her into the sling before taking a tentative step into the grass....so far so good. In fact they got within a rock's throw of the lakeshore, and she had just started waving to what she now saw was a young man out in the water, when a quacking blue menace flew up out of the reeds and right at her face, knocking her over onto her backside. < Hey, watch it! > the quacking seemed to say, and she realized she was having a harder time understanding the wild Pokemon....whatever it was. She'd have to concentrate extra hard when listening to them from here on.
She blinked away confusion to see a little Ducklett standing off in the gap they'd made in their traveling through the grass. She recognized it instantly! She'd raised many a Ducklett into a beautiful and graceful Swanna in her time. Oh, it made her heart ache to see it, transported her right back home after she'd seen so many unfamiliar Pokemon in her time here. "Sorry little feller! I'm Mila! This is...Q?" she looked down to see the pup had shrunk down even further into the pouch, "C'mon now, girl, it's okay! Say howdy!"
The Ducklett watched the human girl and her doggy from the safe distance he'd gained, his face permanently cursed with wide clueless eyes and a mischevous grin on his bill. He had so much more inside of him, so much he yearned to experience and see and do. But nobody could ever know, nobody would ever know. In his heart of hearts he wanted to be a....no...no he couldn't even admit it to himself! He kicked at the low growing grass that was suffocating from lack of sunlight as the taller reeds danced and swayed in the wind. So much like him, choked out of existence and stuck at this lake, always in the shadows of their older beautiful siblings and parents.
He'd never learned to fly, never been taught to spread his wings. They never looked back when they flew south last winter and when they came back in the spring? Pah! They acted like they didn't know him. So here he was, rejected and dejected. All the newly hatched Duckletts knew not to talk to him and the older ones, the Swannas and even the Duckletts who managed to hold some semblance of grace and coolness despite hanging back from evolving - they knew better than to risk their own standing in the pecking order when it came to being his friend.
He'd spent a lot of time on his own now and even managed to build up an air of intrigue among the smaller, simpler pokemon who didn't know anything about water fowl politics and familial alliances. The various water bugs and just bug-bugs skated by, whispering rural legends about the Ugly Ducklett. Some said he had a glass eye, others that he would swallow you whole if you crossed his path. But really he just wanted someone to love him, and that he could love in return. He'd had that once but....Oh...< Darla ...he uttered at last, causing the trainer and her pooch to stop their wrestling and turn to blink in unison at him.
"Honeybunch, no I'm Mila. Meeee luuuuh." she sounded out, scootching closer and dumping Q out once and for all, "But Darla shore is a purdy name too! Oh! Is that yorn? Hi Darla, nice to meet ya. I never knew wild Pokemon had names but I guess they could!"
< Hmph! No! Darla is my... > he trailed off, stammering, wondering how he'd nearly been so easily tricked into revealing the significance of that name. Such a beautiful angelic name! The love of his life, stolen from him by a bigger, stronger fowl! She didn't know how big of a brute the Swanna male was! She'd turned her back on him just like everyone else, never knowing that she was the prize kept in a blackmailing operation between that Swanna and his parents.
The Swanna, named Cecil, had remembered our lonesome Ducklett from their younger days on the pond, and threatened to reveal to his parents that he knew - threatened to reveal to the whole lake that this disgrace of a fowl was their son. So they'd come to Ducklett in the dead of night, speaking to him for the first time since they'd left him as a baby, to tell him he had better not dare fight for Darla and bring shame to their family. Or he would have bigger problems than not being invited to the reunions or weekly games of water polo.
So his sweet, sweet Darla was with another 'mon and every day on top of seeing his parents swim by without a second glance, he had to watch as she lived under the impression that he'd never really cared about her. That he was too weak and feeble and cowardly to fight for her. "You shore do like long stretches of silence, little buddy....why don't ya tell me what's on your mind? Heck I won't even battle ya if that's what you're worried about. But somethin's eatin at you, I can tell!"
Ducklett hesitated but she was right! This had been weighing on his heart for so long! He broke down and finally told her every last detail, all that he'd been musing on in his brooding. This strange human whom he didn't know from a rock on the ground, and her dusty looking dog with a funky growth on its neck. When it was all out, this flood of words, he was panting and wild eyed. Just saying it all out loud...it pissed him off! < And why should I have to fight for her? Why wouldn't she just choose me?! What kind of shit is that? You know what? No! Fuck this! Fuck this lake, fuck my parents, fuck Darla, and FUCK YOU CECIL! > he shouted, feeling suddenly rebellious. Something he hadn't felt since his early ducky years when he would sneak and eat his sister's grubs.
"Whoa, easy there fella, calm down!" Mila said, her eyes going wide at the can of caterpi she'd just opened up! "Tell ya what, you come with me, I'll train you big and strong, we'll find you another duck lady to settle down with, and then we can come back here and whoop old Cecil's ass!" she said, leaning in conspiratorily. She didn't have the heart to tell the Ducklett she didn't think he could quite take on Cecil now and she knew she and Q would struggle if that was their first real battle. She pulled a Pokeball out and clicked it to expand, offering it up to him.

Quest fitz , wc 600, looking for pokemon egg thread for bruxish, ferroseed & ducklett If it wasn't for the sound of whoever speaking sounding like they'd never picked up a dictionary in their life, Soren probably would have ignored it entirely. If it wasn't for the fact that he had three eggs and his starter Pokemon just sitting on shore, he still would have ignored it. But he didn't want someone who unironically said the word sure like shore anywhere near the infant ears that hadn't yet hatched. As if somehow it would permeate the egg shell and teach them that it was an acceptable way to say anything ever. He trusted Dorito to be able to watch over them but... She didn't seem like the most absolutely reliable Pokemon ever when she was concerned with picking what seemed to be massive quantities of grass. He watched from his wading point as the Snorunt began to carry it over nearer to his bag. Stacking it up in piles and pretty blissfully unaware that someone who didn't even understand grammar was lurking around. Soren wasn't sure what she was going to use it for but it probably was going to end up a mess like the snow had. So long as she was remembering that she was supposed to be keeping a look out he didn't really care too much. After all this was as much her journey as it was his since they were partners or whatever. As much as he was enjoying the dip he was worried about continuing it. As much as he wanted to reach the deeper parts of the lake was it really safe to get too far out? He wasn't going to find any spectacular Pokemon near the shore obviously but with someone else in the area he wasn't sure he wanted to go as far as he wanted. But, on the flip side, he hadn't actually seen whoever it was that was speaking yet. For all he knew the voice was just carrying from far away. Though it was awfully clear for that. "Dorito be on the lookout. I heard something weird." And by weird he meant that he heard something that sounded suspiciously southern and that was enough to make any gay boy on edge for the time being. < 'kay. > She was mildly disinterested in what her new partner said but at least she could sort of pretend that she cared. Glancing over at the eggs she made sure that they were still nice and safe. Of course they were. She was watching them the best ever... While still building her little grass pile. Pretty sure that she was going to be able to handle it Soren started to wade even deeper. The chilled water finally hit his stomach as he began to look around. It wasn't like diving under was a big scare for him. He'd done it in pools all the time and this water looked extremely clear for stuff that was out in nature of all places. He was pretty sure that he thought all of the water outside of pools was supposed to be gross and slimey or something. But he would take what little blessings he got as he took a deep breath and finally dove underneath. The cold water hitting his sun warmed face with a bit of shock at first. It was cold enough that he almost lost the breath he had just taken due to shock. If nothing else he was thrilled that the waterproof makeup seemed to be holding up. It was worth the money he'd dropped on it after all. Even if towards the end he really couldn't afford it. MADE BY ★MEULK

Ducklett shrugged, trying to keep his feathers from literally becoming more ruffled. It sure sounded like a good offer and it had to be better than the life he was leading here. He bumped the ball with his bill, trying to figure out how exactly to do what he had seen countless others do before when other trainers came by, and suddenly found himself whisked into the comfort of his very first pokeball. It was...surprisingly roomy! It wasn't long before he found himself dozing off, happy he no longer had to sleep with one eye open to watch out for passing bullies.
Mila stared in awe as the little blue guy shone bright and slipped in the blink of an eye into the ball in her hand. After a breath she leapt to her full height, even getting airborne as her heels literally clicked in their boots above the reeds. "YEEEEHAWWW I GOT 'IM Q DIDJA SEE 'AT?? DIDJA SEE?? WE DIDN'T EVEN HAFTA BATTLE 'IM Q I JUSTALKED THAT FELLER INTO COMIN WITH US NO PROBLEM HOOOO LEEE SHIYET!!" she squealed, bouncing in place still, "C'mon girl lets go see if we can find that ol Cecil and rub it in his dumb goose face that he's gonna be stuck hyer eatin pond scum! I bet Ducky would like that! Ha!"
Q couldn't help but to roll her eyes, although she was glad she was out of sight walking behind Mila as they went through the remaining tall grasses towards the lake shore. Honestly hadn't they just been preaching pacifism to the Ducklett? Still she couldn't help but to be giddy for her trainer. Mila had just caught her first Pokemon! And she was right, Q didn't have to do a thing! Maybe this would be easier than she thought. < Yipe! > she yelped, jumping a foot in the air as she bumped right into a chilly triangle ripping up the soft blades of grass they were now wading through. Mila stopped in her tracks a few feet away near a tree just in time to glance down and see a bag that the boy in the water must have dumped and the ice Pokemon she recognized from her home region piling up grass. She couldn't help but to chuckle.
"Skyerrdy pup, it's alright. We're outta the tall grasses now - that's some other feller's Pokemon, I reckon. Probably his. HOWDY!" she added for punctuation, turning back towards the lake and giving another wave since she didn't recollect him acknowledging her previous silent greeting from before the Ducklett had made his appearance.
She figured this was a good a place as any to take a rest, the view was gorgeous and even that pretty boy out there flopping around in the water was easy on the eyes. She flopped onto the ground and slid her palms back through the pillow soft grass beneath the tree, leaning back and soaking up the sun. Q bravely nosed the other Pokemon <H-hello! I like your...grass.>

wild pokemon since this is now a dual catching thread, i'm doing a full modding for you both! i hope you enjoy! Oblivious to the whole spectacle with the Ducklett, the humans, the southern type screaming- two pokemon were having a moment. Not a good, one, sadly, as they were shaded by their own little patch of grass on the water. Close to the noise but able to drown it out in their own little world. A Surskit and Dewpider rested in the water, in a heated and intense conversation. < L-look... Dewpider... I just... > The Surskit started, sighing softly and looking away. She stared into the water and watched it ripple around her leg stalks as she thought of how to word what she was about to say. < Y-yeah? > Dewpider prodded, gently, her voice apprehensive. < I don't think we're... working out. Together. I... >Dewpider gasped, shaking slightly as she took in the words. Her eyes brimmed with tears; not obliviously noticeable thanks to the water bubble around her head. < Y-you.... but... why? > Her voice was still quiet, but also raw as she tried to keep her emotions under control. < It's just... we're not as cool together as we used to be. I... I liked it better when we were friends, Dewpider. >Sniffling, Dewpider darted out of the reeds of the shore they were at and ran towards the human and pokemon on the bank. Her eyes were closed, she was just trying to get away from her pain, but her foot caught on Soren's bag as she passed. Her head orb plopped down on it as she tripped, sucking in the Bruxish egg. The egg floated around her head as she stood back up and scurried away, now crying softly as she went. < D-dewpider! > Surskit ran out of the reeds after her, still worried despite what had just happened between them. She gave chase, not caring so much about the humans, other pokemon or accidentally stolen egg. MADE BY VEL OF GS

Quest fitz , wc 650, soren is intentionally ignoring her im sorry xD egg thread for bruxish, ferroseed & ducklett If he hadn't been underwater he probably would have cringed at the sound of someone shouting as whoever it was did so in some sort of victory. Instead though he was under the water, hands brushing over the bottom of the lake as he tried to rouse something from the water. Not that it was doing much good. Honestly if he didn't know any better Soren would have figured that there were no Pokemon here at all. Especially since he hadn't managed to see one. Obviously any Pokemon out here would want to be seen with him. He was amazing and he knew he'd be able to elevate them. He just had to actually... Find one. Frustrated and sure that for whatever reason there just weren't any Pokemon around at all he finally pulled himself up to the surface. Water falling from his hair as he shook it out and tried to catch up on his breathing. He rubbed his face and tried to shake off the water there too. Swimming was such a hassle. And it had all been for nothing. Now he was just cold and wet. Dorito was having another issue at hand though. Tasked with guarding the eggs it proved a lot more difficult to do so when there was actually a person intruding on her building efforts. Quickly she tried to toss some of the grass onto the eggs to hide them better as the human got closer. Dorito was also pretty sure that this was what her trainer meant by hearing something weird. The way the other human spoke was a lot different from how her own partner did. Maybe that was considered weird to Soren? He was a pretty weird guy himself so she couldn't really judge that much. < don't touch. > As much as she didn't like being bossed around she knew Soren would be sad if something bad happened to the eggs. Especially since he seemed to love them so much. He held them a lot and gave them lots of love. Which she was pretty sure was what a trainer or whatever was supposed to do. Honestly she wasn't really sure what Soren's job was. Just that he liked to look good while doing it. Though despite her insistence that the new human and their Pokemon not touch the eggs. It seemed as though she hadn't been paying quite enough attention to the rest of her surroundings. Something she should have been used to by now if you wanted to be perfectly honest. Just as Soren was starting to wade to shore, a scowl on his face about someone sitting there by his things when there was an entire lake for them to relax by, his eyes locked on instead to the small bug like creature that seemed to be rushing towards his eggs instead. "Dorito pay attention! Behind you!" But it was too late as the bug managed to scoop up the egg and begin to run off with it. This had been the worst idea in existence. Unfortunately the ice type was too slow to turn around and stop the newcomer from grabbing the egg. < oh heck! > Quickly she started to give chase after the Pokemon. Her attention towards the others completely lost as she realized that one of her charges was lost for the moment. Soren was concerned with it all however. Now close enough to begin running towards the shore he dripped water as reached it. Long legs rushing towards the eggs that remained and gathering them back up in the bag so that they would be safe. After all it could just be a ploy for a distraction and then for someone else to grab the remaining eggs while they were gone. He wasn't going to let that happen either. The bag over his shoulder he took off after whatever it was that had taken his egg. MADE BY ★MEULK

Q watched, wide-eyed as the little ice pyramid continued to go about its business piling grass, now scattering it around the eggs. She nodded solemnly, not wanting to cross a protective mother….though...the eggs didn’t look like they would belong to her. Oh, but that was a little judgy wasn’t it? Your babies didn’t always have to look like you, she supposed. She had a great deal to learn about being a mommy it would seem. Good thing Mila was more than willing to let her do that in her own time, in no rush to pressure her to breed. Her tail wagged, thinking how lucky she was to be with such a considerate trainer. Then she remembered the eggs she had been nestled with just moments before...maybe the same thing was happening here. Maybe this pokemon’s trainer had gotten them from a strange man in a trenchcoat too? < Are those your babies? > she asked but was definitely not heard as right at that moment a wailing bug ran between them and collapsed onto the pile before rearing back off and running off with one of the eggs!! < W-wait! Come back with her baby!! > she called out, barking in a panic. Mila’s eyes had closed the longer she stared up at the clouds. Q was skittish enough to warn her if there was any danger, so she felt at ease to relax there in the waving grass by the lake. She’d never been overly cautious herself, always assuming the best in people and situations. Q’s barking combined with the shouts from the guy in the water brought her jolting back to awareness. How long had she dozed? What was going on? Q had given up on actual speech and was just yelping in a panic, making nonsense sounds.
She rubbed at one of her eyes, turning just in time to see the bug disappear up the hill with an egg bobbing in its bubble. Her hands groped the sling resting against her stomach. Still two lumps there. So it wasn’t her’s. Part of her thought, not her egg not her problem. Her hesitation prevented her from moving any quicker than the guy coming up sopping from the lake to give chase with his Pokemon and the rest of his eggs in tow. Q bounced back and forth on her feet, unsure of whether to run after and help them or stay by Mila. Her eyes went to her trainer for instructions. ”Errr...shit, we should prob’ly help, huh?” she said, rocking forward and turning to go with them, whistling for Q to follow, ”C’mon girl!” the tall grasses waved around them once again, standing as tall as her head as she crouched to pay close attention to the ground. That thing had been some kind of bug, right? Like a spider...was it blue or green? Movement up ahead caused her to clap once to grab Q’s attention, ”Alright, Q, go Tackle ‘at thang!” Q nodded and bounded with the rush of adrenaline she had to pile her body onto the Surskit a few feet away still running for her lover. She instantly knew it wasn’t the Pokemon she’d seen take the egg. She backed off of it, scared now that it would be angry for her attacking it and being in the wrong, < S-sorry! Have you seen a big bubble head thing running by with someone’s egg? > Mila saw the exchange but couldn’t quite hear the words and stood a little straighter to see the grass moving further up where the guy must have been, ”Mistooken identity?” she asked, walking closer to her pup and the spider.

wild pokemon Dewpider stopped after she had hit the treeline, pressing her back against one of the trees there before covering her face with her legs and sobbing openly and loudly. The egg twisted and moved around her head, still mostly unnoticed in her misery. It always sucked to be broken up with and she didn't even really know why it had happened. She had thought that Surskit and her were cool! They were doing good! Sure, it wasn't the same as when they were friends before, but she had been so sure they could work through it.... Surskit was so focused on catching up with Dewpider that she didn't see the Tackle coming. One second she's chasing after her (ex?) best friend and the next she's on the ground. < Oof! > She tasted dirt as she face planted hard into the ground. < Watch it! > Surskit snapped, pushing herself back onto her feet and moving to run off again. < Can't you see I'm busy?! > Normally she didn't like to be so short with people but this was a matter of the heart! Huffing, she made to follow Dewpider again but groaned after taking a few steps before her fall had made her lose sight of her. Walking over to the treeline, and closer to Dewpider then she realized, Surskit flopped against one of the trees and huffed. < Now she hates me.... >MADE BY VEL OF GS

Quest fitz , wc 510, short post is short : ( egg thread for bruxish, ferroseed & ducklett Running barefoot across such a long distance with feet so unused to actually being on weird surfaces like this was probably a bad idea. His feet hurt already but he wasn't going to let some bug take off with his egg. At least Soren assumed that it was some sort of bug. Slipping a little bit on the slightly damp grass. This was a lot harder than he expected it to be. Especially since all he had wanted was to find some water type Pokemon to help pad his team with. But of course that wasn't something that could actually happen. No, he could never have it easy. All he'd wanted was to get away from the bullshit back home and yet here he was involved in even more. Leaving the eggs with Dorito had probably been a mistake. She was scatterbrained enough without having added responsibility. But he guessed he couldn't completely blame her for the entire thing. He should have been paying attention too. "Stop running! You have an egg in your head!" As weird as that sounded. He wasn't sure what kind of Pokemon he was about to come face to face with but his feet hurt and he didn't want to run anymore. He wanted to stay in a nice hotel and rest his aching feet rather than deal with this shit. But of course that wasn't allowed. But luckily, finally the Pokemon seemed to have enough of the running as well. Though he wasn't expecting to walk up on her crying. That was weird. Maybe she felt bad about the fact that she had stolen the egg? Maybe it was all an accident. < heck. caught up. > Dorito panted next to Soren. Her stubby legs weren't built for running so much but at least she had finally made it. Her determined eyes stared at the egg that she needed to get back. < egg please. > Quickly the Snorunt waddled forward with open arms. "Don't get too close Dorito." There was no telling if this Pokemon wanted to fight after all of this. After all some wild Pokemon were probably wily enough to cry to get a Pokemon close enough to take them by surprise. Soren didn't really want to risk something happening to the egg by goading them into a battle. "So uh, you probably already know this but you've got a Bruxish egg in your... Water... Bubble... Thing?" He wasn't really sure what it was but he couldn't let her keep it in there either. Soren wasn't used to dealing with Pokemon like this. After all Dorito had managed to trick him into building a giant snow pyramid whenever they first met but that probably wouldn't happen twice. Probably. It was awkward enough that he was trying to ask her for the egg back but her tears made it hard to really take this seriously. Well, no seriously was the wrong wrod. It was hard to... Fuck he didn't know. It was hard to do something though. That much was sure. MADE BY ★MEULK

Q cowered with her tail between her legs as the Surskit snapped at her. She couldn’t blame her, after all, she’d just barrelled into her out of nowhere, and she definitely outweighed her, and it was uncalled for and any beating now would be worth it and…..she felt Mila move up beside of her and only then realized she’d clenched her eyes shut and waited for the attack, frozen in fright.Surskit had already hurried along on her way, far too preoccupied with her chase to worry about a cowering puppy. Her mouth opened to apologize again, feeling like such a screw up, wishing she’d paid more attention before, but she was cut short as Mila scooped her up and continued following in the general direction the spider had disappeared to.
They didn’t have far to walk at all as the grasses seemed to grow shorter in the shadow of the trees, and there sat Serskit slumped to the ground looking terribly dejected. The timing was perfect with Mila’s stride far outreaching Serskit’s scurrying, as they heard her words. Mila placed Q gingerly back on the ground and knelt, resting on her ankles, “I guess that big bubble head was your buddy, huh? Was y’all fightin? Wanna talk about it?” she asked, reaching in to give a reassuring stroke to the eggs. Whom it was meant to reassure, her or the eggs themselves, she wasn’t certain. Either way it alleviated some of the burst of her adrenaline.
Q curled up in the grass beside of her, eyeing the spider warily and hoping it hadn’t lured them to some kind of trap. If she froze up with one snippy comment imagine how she’d be when faced with a real battle. Not just sneak tackling the thing. Her reaction definitely had her worried. What if Mila sent her back to the lab? What if she wasn’t a good enough Pokemon? She didn’t want to have babies yet and she wasn’t good at battling yet so what was she good at?

wild pokemon Dewpider kept sobbing softly to herself, fizzing bubbles of air escaping her mouth occasionally to rattle the spear of water encasing her head. She started some when Soren and Dorito stopped nearby; in her mad dash to run away she hadn't even noticed. Dewpider's lower mandible wobbled as she stared at the human blankly. Then she burst into fresh tears again, sobbing louder and harder than before. < God, I'm such a fuck up! I'm so stupid! > Anger leeched into her voice, but not directed at the human. < God, no wonder this happened! I'm just a fucking... useless... ugh! > Dewpider reached into her bubble and plucked out the egg, setting on the ground and rolling it towards Dorito before she tried to hide her face some. < I'm no good and just.... > She sniffled again weakly. With Mila, Surskit gave Q and the human an appraising, if bitter, look. While it really wasn't actually either of their faults, Surskit was more than willing to be petty and take out her heartbreak on the two of them. < I don't want to talk about it. > It was sharp and icy. But it was also followed by a huff and a sniffle from the bug type. < Just... ugh! We were so good! As friends! And then she wanted to date, cause she liked me, and I said yes but I didn't like her the same way, you know? And I felt like if I didn't say yes then she would hate me! I just wanted to make my friend happy and instead, I lead her on and I'm a terrible pokemon! >Surkit Dewpider MADE BY VEL OF GS

Quest fitz , wc 510, short post is short : ( egg thread for bruxish, ferroseed & ducklett If anyone asked him how today was going to go this wouldn't have been his answer. He had no idea what kind of Pokemon this was but at least she was willing to hand over the egg. That was the important part of it all. Except for the fact that she was crying her little eyes out. It made him feel bad because he pretty much knew where she was coming from. He was no stranger to heartbreak, especially from someone that he'd originally thought was a friend. It was part of the reason he'd had to move on with his life. And part of the reason he was even in this mess to begin with. But even as Dorito held the egg close he wasn't sure he could just leave her like this either. Carefully he sat down on the ground. Even if he was still wet and the ground was full of dirt and leaves at least he could just go wash off later. "Listen, dating people is hard and dating your friends is even harder. You expect shit to work out better because you already know each other but really it just ends up a fucking mess because you don't know each other like that." He was speaking from experience on that one. He'd trusted one too many people and it ruined his career. Not that he cared. He could do whatever the fuck he wanted now and no one could tell him otherwise. "It's shitty but it's true. The best way to get over it if you're that heartbroken is to get as far away from possible from the problem. The 'we will still be friends' shit rarely works the way you want it to. Especially if you're still in love with the person." He knew he probably wasn't wording it the best but he wasn't really sure how to word it. Being blunt was the best thing he could do in this situation and hopefully, she would stop crying soon. Crying made him feel like shit to be completely honest and he didn't need even more of that. Mila could hear the guy from before talking and seeming to answer the Surskit’s bemoaning himself but...maybe not. Maybe he was helping the other one... So maybe her little friend was just on the other side of this….tree? She stood and peeked around and sure enough they were right there in earshot of eachother. ”Well, heck! Ya got yer egg back!” was the first thing out of her mouth. She had never been in any kind of relationship before, herself, had never even really had any friends let alone friends she would fuck up and date. It seemed Soren had a better handle on this than she ever could. ”Q and I are gonna mosey along now, I hope y’all kin work this out!” she said with a shrug, ”We’ll see ya around sometime maybe! Good luck!” she said, waving and nudging the Surskit on over. They would need to talk this shit out and figure out what to do from there. She was no good at mediating. ”Come on girl.” she called to Q, ”We’ve got lots more ground to cover before we get to Ara!” she added, waiting for the Rockruff to prance along in her wake before going on back to the road. They’d be sure to be careful from here on about treading in the tall grass. 🌺 inari 🌺 Questwords: 233 notes: quest had said I could duck out in this next posting round and count it was mila's three spawns where it took a little while to go on and she was thread locked lol
