Litwick was born to a very affluent family that lavished upon her whatever she liked. She was an only child and was quite spoiled the truth be told. Whatever she wanted her dear father gave to her all while letting her stay locked away in the towers of their mansion. She never left the place unless it was to go to the gardens or a party. Though in order to stop from having to leave her luxuries she often threw parties in her own home rather than going out. They were extravagant and only the best of the best were ever invited. Hence when she fell in love with a gentleman much older than she was she wouldn't have no for an answer.

Though her father resisted and refused to consent to the marriage for reasons he hoped he wouldn't have to explain. He tried to shower her with gifts until she forgot all about her older fellow but to no avail. Finally the man suggested that they run away, but she had to be sure to pack as much of her wealth as she could so that they could live comfortably on the road. She agreed to meet him in the woods though she had never set foot off of her family's grounds in that direction for her entire life. It didn't matter though as she ended up getting lost, following a small light that she assumed was his.

No matter how far she walked though she could never catch up until she found what appeared to be a small cabin. Inside the cabin was nothing but a lonely candle that she used to try and get some warmth. It wasn't until even later that night when she was sleeping did she realize in fact that her suitcase had been taken, along with all the money and jewels she had brought with her. In a fit of rage she pushed the chairs and knocked over a table. Only to reveal that the candle wasn't quite a candle at all but rather a now very startled Litwick. Disturbed from its slumber and the meal it was gathering from her the Pokemon caught the cabin on fire in its fear, fleeing through the wall while she herself was trapped in a haze of smoke and flames.

When she awoke once more she was herself, and yet not. She didn't know how long she had been asleep but just that the engagement ring she had been given didn't quite fit on her fingers... Because for some reason she didn't quite have any. In a fit of shock she began to head back towards the way she came. Back towards her home. The gardens were overgrown and the house was in a state of disrepair and she couldn't quite understand why. She had only been gone for a day or so and nothing was the same. But in reality she had been gone for many many years.

The anger she felt bubbled back up to the surface, causing her to light the childhood home on fire. That was when the rangers came for her as a trouble maker. She didn't know how to explain to them that they had the wrong person but eventually she adjusted to her new life. The old one fading into not quite memories but rather vague blurs of nothingness. She knows that they're there but she can't quite recall what they are.

Litwick still retains being a spoiled child who wants the best of everything whenever she can get her hands on it. She doesn't enjoy pranks and she doesn't enjoy mischief like some other ghosts do but would rather just get her way out of stubbornness and a refusal to listen to others when they say that they don't want to do something. She likes to read dime novellas that usually involve a dashing rogue and a high class lady and all the drama that comes in between. She'll often just pick them up off of the shelf of a store and tell the store to "charge her tab" expecting her trainer to keep up with all of that nonsense.

Litwick is extremely passionate about women being treated as they should be. Which is with respect and kindness. She's not afraid to use her flames to punish people that she thinks deserves it and will not apologize for her own sort of vigilante justice. She believes that when it comes to defending a woman's honor she is above reproach because if she doesn't do it then who will. Her temper also gets a little bit out of hand whenever she begins to remember, or attempt to remember, things that happened to her before she became her current self. She can't control it and frequently has nightmares about burning. Which confuses her due to being partially a fire type herself.

With time, effort, and a lot of burn cream one day she can perhaps come to peace with what happened to her. Until then she will continue to have episodes that vary from mild to absolutely horrendous. She won't ever apologize for them in person but left to her own devices she might be found crying over it later simply because she doesn't understand them and to be honest she is a little bit frightened. She'll be hesitant to get to friendly terms with her trainer due to her mild worries about accidentally hurting someone who doesn't deserve it.

Melvin was found in Cassiopeia Village, a long way from his home. He's an obvious scaredy-cat, and something had scared him into running so far from home he got lost. He was picked on a lot back home, and he didn't know what he wanted to do. He wanted to go home, but he wondered if it would matter if he made it back or not. Varland still offered to help him either way, and he'll be willing to part ways with Melvin if he really wants to stay home once they find it. He hopes he can convince Melvin to stay with them, because hearing about the way he got bullied before made him feel a little protective, but only time will tell what sort of bond they might forge.
