♔Max wrung his hands, refusing to enter the lab until he nailed what he had planned, exactly to the t. He had practiced on the way here a million times, in his head, but now that he was actually at their door step; it didn’t feel like enough.
He was willing to stay out here for as long as it took, that was until a passer by gave him a glance. It made him more nervous. Did they think he was weird, just standing outside by himself? Were they suspicious of him? Or maybe it was just all in his head….
Max sighed, roughly combing his hair the wrong way.
Enough
He clenched his fists firmly, took a big breath, and opened the door. Max tried to walk in as normal as possible, attempting to feign calmness in his gait.
“Hello” he felt the awkwardness clogging his throat and cleared it. “Um, hi. I’m here to get a starter pokemon” Max mentally winced at the fact that he repeated his greeting. He began to worry the bottom of his lip with his teeth. This wasn’t going as smoothly as he planned in his head.

"[googlefont=Open+Sans] | THE FEELINGS I KEPT DEEP INSIDE ARE NOW SCREAMING ON THE TOP OF THEIR LUNGS, TRYING TO VOICE OUR INFINITE VOW. MY STRENGTH HAS BROUGHT ME THIS FAR, BUT IF I ONLY HAD A LITTLE BIT MORE, MY AIM WILL BE THAT ENDLESS BLUE SKY BOUND BY NO LIMITATIONS AT ALL.

Xui looked up with mildly bleary eyes as she heard someone come in. It was time for a new eye appointment that was sure. Her lenses were great for everything but staring at a screen. But that didn't mean she could let her job go undone because of it. Making the appointment would just have to wait for a little until she was finished with this new person coming in. Wiping her eyes a little bit to get some of the tiredness out she smiled. "Welcome to the Cassiopeia Lab. Can I help you with something?" Knowing how nervous he looked the boy was probably here for a starter. But it didn't hurt to ask. How they reacted to certain things made it easier to pick out the right partner for them after all. IM GONNA ASSUME THIS IS READY TO GO BUT NEXT TIME MAKE SURE TO POST IT IN THE RIGHT THREAD FOR MODERATION

♔M ax swallowed firmly
“Um, yes. I was told to come here to get a starter pokemon”
He reached up and fiddled with his dark hair, giving a tentative smile to the seemingly sleep deprived lady.
At least she seemed nice and welcoming. He appreciated it and found it helped calm his erratic nerves. People who tended to be on the gruffer side made him nervous. Then again, nearly everything stressed him out.
Including this ordeal. He knew how important a starter was. They were the foundation of your career, your main partner in crime. Max wasn’t an idiot he knew he didn’t have the typical disposition for a trainer. He wasn’t confident and boisterous, nor was he naturally strong; but he was willing to work for it.
Max shifted his back around his shoulders, messing with the straps, while turning to observe the room. It was clean and pristine looking, how he expected a lab to look like and even had that faint scent of sanitizing products.

He seemed nervous but that was pretty normal. After all, getting your starter Pokemon could be nervewracking. She moved deliberately, grabbing the clipboard and setting it forward for him. "I need you to fill out this paperwork for me. Do you have any Pokemon in mind?" After all if she had an idea of what sort of Pokemon he liked this would go a lot smoother. It was easier to work with the trainer she found. Though some of the lab assistants didn't quite work that way. It was nice that they all had their own ways of doing things. "I will show you a couple different Pokemon and you can get to know them before making your choice." That way he wouldn't end up with an incompatible match. ♔Max turned back to the front desk, as the woman motioned for him to fill out the thin stack of papers. He swung his backpack onto one shoulder, twisting around to rummage around for his pen; which he made sure to pack.
He jotted down the information required of him, taking care to make sure he didn’t mess up on anything. He didn’t want any reason for their to be a delay in this process. Max lifted his head as the assistant questioned him on his preference. He hadn’t realized they took one’s preference into account, on which pokemon would be their first one.
“Um, Do you have any water types available?” he asked. Although he had always admired fire types for their stereotypical, act first think later attitude; he thought it fitting to start out with a water type. He had a soft spot for the aquatic creatures. After all they were the first pokemons he was ever exposed to, and although the time was brief, they left him with fond memories.
He resumed filling out the rest of the application, before placing it back onto the desk.
