As an addict with a pen, who's addicted to the wind As it blows me back and forth, mindless, spineless, and pretend Of course I'll be here again, see you tomorrow, but it's the end of today Koenn had arrived in Inset raring to go, ready to get started. Alcaeus had also picked up on this energy, and was excited to get exploring, battling, whatever it was that he could sink his teeth into. Sometimes literally. He and his Growlithe had reached Cassopeia town full of energy. They picked up some supplies, a little bit of food and a bag to store these in. Food was a good place to start, right? Something everyone needed, especially when journeying around. It was coming out of the market that the two of them spotted the flyer advertising a Ranger recruitment drive. They just started at each other. "We should definitely go," Koenn said to his partner Pokemon, who nodded viciously. Koenn almost thought the poor Growlithe's head was going to fall off. "We should absolutely, one hundred percent, go," said Alcaeus, who wanted to be a Ranger's Pokemon as much as Koenn himself wanted to be a Ranger. They had spent hours training their bodies and minds with this goal - they had spent hours talking about the kinds of things they expected from being a Ranger. They had both done their research as much as possible, and seeing this flyer seemed like fate. Koenn grinned, and the two of them set off looking for a bus that would take them to Elara town, so they could then walk to the Ranger's outpost. They were now outside the Ranger's outpost, and excited. Not in an "ohmygosh this is happening," kind of way, but more like a "this is an opportunity I have desired for a while, and I am excited to be given the chance," kind of excitement. Koenn found himself glad that he had been given Alcaeus from his fathers, as the time to get a starter Pokemon probably would have ruled him out of the recruitment drive - plus, he already had a bond with the Growlithe, and they had trained in basic battles together. They weren't necessarily "ready", but they were mostly prepared. Koenn ruffled the neck of his partner, and smiled. "Are you ready to go in, Alcaeus?" He asked the little dog, who nodded. "I am. I'm nervous though, I just want to do well." The Growlithe, while a hyper puppy, was well spoken most of the time. Koenn petted him again. "No need to be nervous, my friend. Whatever happens, happens. We'll give it our best shot no matter what." Alcaeus bristled a little with happiness at the encouragement, and the two of them entered the outpost, Alcaeus trotting at the heels of his trainer.
