| Pokemon: ------ | Trent furrowed his brow as he stepped up to the lab doors. College was now behind him and he was ready to start his own research into Pokemon. It would take years to probably even get his name recognized. He was prepared though come what may.
He stepped through the doors taking in the interior. Definitely looked like a lab. A few people roamed around. It would be hard to start his own reserve alone. He should take the time to study different organizations like this to find the best layout needed for a productive environment.
As well as infrastructure. It would do no good to have a productive team that could not communicate because the team could not get along. Still for now he was a one man team. Something that had to be rectified by gaining permission for his first Pokemon.
Type was important as well as abilities. Should he go for the strongest or weakest? It would be interesting to try and train a weak Pokemon to be strong however a strong Pokemon would allow him more freedom. Freedom to travel without worry to his health.
"Pardon me," he finally spoke to one of the lab coats. "I wish to obtain one of the Pokemon within this facility. I do have permit and have spoken to the professor over phone." |

She was the only assistant in the lab today as per usual - being such a small facility they were on one a day shifts unless something extra needed done behind the scenes. She picked up a clipboard, ”Look, I’m sure you called ahead and got permission.” she said, her voice dripping with apathetic sarcasm, ”But we don’t have an appointment in the books for today and I know we’ve not received any new paperwork so you’ll need to fill this out for me.” she said, handing him a clipboard and pen with a few forms on it before getting up and striding over to the cabinet with rows and rows of pokeballs. ”Do you have any prior experience with Pokemon, and if so to what extent? If you’ve ever trained or been partnered with or owned...” she hated that word, ”A pokemon before where are they now?” she finished her spiel of questions. Those were the most important. They wouldn’t give a pokemon to just anyone, after all. And if they were a serial abandoner or green as a blade of grass and too gungho, Tate was usually quick to put them in their place or give them a rundown of what they should consider and learn a little more about before getting a pokemon. Precious cargo was behind her in the cabinet, she’d worked in some capacity with every single one of them to prepare them to present as starters. If something went awry she’d be the first to blame it on the potential trainer and not one of them.

| Pokemon: ------ | Trent made no move to comment. Her sarcasm while annoying and inappropriate did not warrant him into making it into a big scene. He took the clipboard without a word turning to lean against the counter as he began to fill it out. Her chattering breaking his focus as she asked about past experiences. "I have a degree in biology Miss. Most of my time with Pokemon has been after they have already died. Quite literally. At the age of twelve, my brothers got me a Duskull as a gag Pokemon. It is still living quite comfortably at home as a household pet. I never had any love for it myself," Trent responded watching her reaction. "I do enjoy Pokemon far more than humans, however. That is why my goal is a nature preserve," Trent continued to wave away any doubt she may have. He then turned back to the papers at hand. His steady hand filling out the information they so blantently request. From the name to address and ID number. They must keep track of all their Pokemon in the event something happens and they must take them back. A fine way to do things to be sure but he wondered the percentile they actually had to take back. Perhaps the screening process should be more severe. While it would be more troublesome it would also prevent problems as well. Of course a lab aid like this one may be all the screening they needed. Trent finished the paperwork setting it upon the desk. Taking the pen and reaching over to place it back in its bin with the others. His gaze returning to her. fitz |

Would you want to work with them or have some sort of privatized….zoo?” she questioned, hopping off of her stool and waddling over to the cabinet, looking over the rows of pokeballs where the starter options were kept. ”I’ll release one pokemon now to speed things along but do let me know if you have a type preference for me to keep in mind for the other two options.” she said before tossing out a Chespin into the room to greet him. < Greetings, peasant! > he chirped, tweaking the protrusions on his head as if they were his crown.

| Pokemon: ------ | When put that way Trent could understand her sarcasm. Admittedly he was rather void of relationships of both kinds. He simply never liked the duskull however because it had been a cruel prank on a young boy who loved Pokemon. It didn't just stop at the day they met either. Often times it had scared him growing up; though a part of him felt it wasn't always on purpose. It simply gave him a distaste for it. "A zoo means showing them off. I believe in natural habitats. Pokemon are wild beings after all and extremely dangerous. They grow complacent in their balls. Being fed without ever having to hunt for themselves. It is the only reason humans are not already extinct. Because they can form mutualistic bonds or even symbiotic ones," Trent responded. "No a natural habitat untouched by humans is what I desire. Not biomes but more an entire country dedicated to being the home of thousands of Pokemon. Including the legends, if they accept it," Trent said furrowing his brow a bit. Idealistic yes but given enough time and money it could be accomplished. He would have to buy massive amounts of land. "Achieving such a goal means doing a lot of work. Something I am prepared for with the right partner. If I am to give Pokemon a proper home to be free and wild in I need to study them; in the wild. Which means I need a reliable partner," Trent said looking to the Chespin. It looked like it was playing with its quills to him. He poked its forehead in response. It would do no good if they could not get along. "I am in no rush to pick. personality is just as important as the ability if I am to work with it. I will see what others you have to offer. I would rather not limit myself to a personal preference," Trent said seemingly uninterested in the Chespin though he kept it in the back of his mind. fitz |

It seemed….delusional. Pokemon already existed in the wild as it was, not all of them were kept in balls. If he wanted to let Pokemon roam free he could just live among them there, ”Well….not all Pokemon are wild...or dangerous. Many are domesticated, such as those coming from breeders and the ones found in this lab, and even wild pokemon you’ll encounter aren’t always ready to attack at every turn. I think you have a great deal to learn about Pokemon other than whatever ideas you’ve formulated under formaldehyde fumes.” He jabbed the Chespin in the forehead and she narrowed her eyes, leaning down and holding her hand out for the Pokemon’s paw, bringing him to stand beside of her by the cabinet once he placed it into her hand. < You will pay for this transgression against the crown…> the Chespin mumbled, rubbing his forehead and glowering at the man. Tate released his paw, knowing he would stay close by, and picked up two more balls, ”It’s at least a good sign that you’re open to whichever personality fits. But please refrain from touching the Pokemon in any way without their consent. Despite your claims of them being wild and dangerous beasts, they’re actually quite intelligent and have minds of their own, and as such, dominion over their bodies. And if he’s as wild and dangerous as you think, poking his forehead could have resulted in you losing a finger at best. So that was a very stupid thing to do.” She clicked open two more balls, sending out a particularly round Tepig who blinked shyly up at Trent from behind Tate’s skirt, < H-hello.> and a Mudkip who ran right up and stood in front of him, wagging his paddle tail and cheerily saying < Hey what up! > "Your choices are Chespin, Tepig, or Mudkup. Take your time to get to know them." she said, gesturing to each to introduce them in case he wasn't familiar with species names.

| Pokemon: ------ | Trent scoffed a bit. Breeders and the like were whom he was speaking of when he said they made Pokemon complacent. While raised properly by human standards out in the wild they would not survive. He was quite aware that wild Pokemon are not always dangerous. However, they can be unpridictable unlike those raised around humans. Prone to show their displeasure in way that are understood. "Intelligent in their own way then I suppose. I assume your warning means these Pokemon are either very young or you have poor training standards," Trent said with a sigh. "As much as I'd love to stay and chat about how little we share I shall take a Pokemon and go."Trent bent down lowering his hand in front of the mudkip. He paused watching its rather friendly behavior. This one would require a lot of attention. Attention better spent working. He already didn't like the chespin. Its glare proof it probably had a very short temper. Another thing he did not need in a Pokemon. Even if he did prefer grass types. Which left the tepig cowering behind the receptionist. Cowardly, perhaps a bit but with some training he was sure it would make a fine partner. Confidence could be drawn out and loyalty taught to someone who was complacent. "Come here," Trent said motioning to the tepig. fitz |

She’d been pressed to her absolute limit in her time, but people had always surprised her or she’d been able to look past eccentricities. She’d always been told that one day someone would come along and break her streak. Someone would be the one to cross the line and be her first. As she watched him survey the three pokemon, hoping he would speak to them at least, she saw him dismiss them on sight alone and then command the shyest of them all to come to him. He hadn’t introduced himself, hadn’t returned a single greeting of any of the three, and had succeeded only in pissing Tate off and making the pokemon uncomfortable as could be. Mudkip was perplexed by the hand in his face and was just about to give it a friendly lick when he saw his attention shift and backed off a bit. Chespin was still sore, physically and emotionally, as he’d taken the hit to his pride and head. And Tepig began to quake against Tate’s legs when she heard his command. She looked nervously up at the assistant who had raised her from a baby and shrank even closer to her. Tate clicked the balls in her hands, returning the starters to their safe havens. And turned without a word back to the cabinet to put them away. ”You will not be receiving a starter today - or any other day.. Please leave our facility. | Pokemon: ------ | Trent watched the tepig huddle itself farther against her leg. He frowned and then suddenly the three were gone. Returned to their Pokeballs in a flash. "I do not believe you have a place to judge ma'am," Trent said frowning and standing back up. "I assure you ma'am. Wither or not you disagree I am not a cruel man. Any one of those three would be perfectly safe under my roof." "I am sure your ruling shall be overturned. Given I have done nothing to warrant such behavior," Trent said turning slightly. Mirae always made sure to keep a careful eye on her work email whenever she had a day off. It wasn't that she didn't trust her coworkers but rather it was nerve-wracking not knowing what was going on in the lab. So of course whenever she received an email from Tate she already had one foot out the door on her way to go and meet who ever she needed help with. She trusted the judgment of the other assistants and even though she was the professor's niece she wasn't going to overrule a decision they'd made unless it was entirely out of line. Something she had yet to see. Quickly she stepped into the lab and since she only lived right down the way she was hardly out of breath from the trip.
Without too many details about what had happened from both sides, she wouldn't be able to make too much of a judgment call. Of course, Tate had given her information but she was required to listen to "both sides". Though if that failed the security cameras would be of much more use. "Can I help you, sir?" If he had been asked to leave then she was partially confused on why he hadn't left yet. But nonetheless, she kept a smile on her face and her voice cheerful. Regardless of what had happened frowning wouldn't solve it a bit. | I know the feeling Of finding yourself stuck out on the ledge

--- Vacations were meant to be spent relaxing. However, when an email and a series of texts made themselves known on Delilah's phone she sighed and reluctantly pulled herself out of her fiance's arms. With a click of her tongue and pulled her work clothes on and freshened up so she looked as sharp and professional as ever. Just in case, she tucked a personal pokeball into her pocket. While she didn't have all the information on what had happened, it never hurt to be too careful. Delilah had dealt with crazies before and, while it was most likely that this 'Trent' fellow wasn't the sort who needed it, it never hurt to be too careful. Strolling through the doors, Delilah kept her head high and looked as stoney and icy as she could. All sharp professionalism not to be taken lightly. She nodded to Mirae and Tate before taking up her position on the opposite side of Mirae, facing the man. She gave him a quick up and down, scrutinizing, before speaking. "My name is Delilah Graves and this is my associate, Mirae. If you feel you have been treated unfairly, speak now with full and accurate detail of your side of the events. If Mirae and myself find you to be undeserving as well, you will be asked to leave. If you refuse to leave, we are within legal rights, thanks to the JBR Code, Section VII, Clause 4, to escort you off the property with force." | Pokemon: ------ | Trent waited patiently as he watched Tate. Her silent treatment doing nothing to detear him. While admittedly he wished to leave and dismiss this whole thing he had come here expecting to find a Pokemon. Rather it has wasted his time and would waste even more time should he have to obtain his Pokemon elsewhere. Once more she was dismissive and Trent lowered his head accepting. It seemed she was as stubborn as she was prickly. Fine qualities to have if she was a trainer of gym leader. However, it did little in the eyes of public service. "Understood," Trent said after a moment turning to leave. He took a few steps only to be addressed by a pink haired woman. He took her in a moment. Another lab worker it seemed. "It seems not. Your receptionist is quite adamant I am unqualified to receive one of your Pokemon," Trent responded. "I am afraid we simply do not get along."Trent thought about what was said and done. While he himself felt he had done nothing wrong he wondered if his words had been somehow misunderstood somewhere along the way. He had put his views as bluntly as possible perhaps that is where the fault lay. Still, he would press this no more than needed. It would be a waste to get into an argument over something solved elsewhere. If this woman could help him then fine. If not he would make an appeal with the local rangers to help him capture a wild Pokemon. Yet another woman arrived. She was blunt and to the point. A bit refreshing to be honest over the others sarcasm. Still to be met by two women who had rushed over at the beckoning of their receptionist he doubted his side would be taken in this matter. "Understood,"Tate said. "I, Trent Moudry, entered this establishment and proceeded to ask for a Pokemon. Upon which I was given the paperwork to fill out. Miss Tate proceeded to ask me questions regarding past experiences with Pokemon.
"My experiences were mainly as a biology student studying their bodies. My family has a pet duskull that was obtained on my thirteenth birthday. I did not care for it and had been given to me more as a jest. Thus the family took it in more than I.
"I reassured her that I do care for Pokemon and would like to open my own preservation. I do believe this is where our views became widely askew. However, this is simply from my understanding of her comments afterward.
"After which I proceeded to approach the first Pokemon she had released. The Chespin was playing with its quills so I gave it a light tap on the head to see what it would do. Whether it would take it as a playful jest or become riled. It was to help my understanding of its demeanor.
"It was not taken kindly by either Pokemon nor Miss Tate. She warned me against touching them without permission. She then proceeded to reveal unto me two more Pokemon. A Mudkip and a Tepig.
"I crouched down and lowered my hand to the seemingly over-friendly Mudkip. It was to get it use to my scent even as I pondered whether it would take too much time out of my research to care for. Friendly and playful is well and good but requires more time and attention.
"Thus I made my final inquiry by trying to call the tepig over to me. It's shy demeanor leaving it restless and hiding behind Miss Tate.
"At such point, Miss Tate felt I was unqualified. Her reasoning is not to my understanding. I heeded her said warning and did not touch any of the other Pokemon without permission.
"I admit I am not an overly friendly person. Nor does fault lie with Miss Tate. I do believe we are both simply rubbing each other the wrong way."Trent was finally finished. It was a bit winded but he kept to the events as he had seen them. Adding in too many quips would have just made it longer and unsightly. As a researcher, he had to be able to take in all facts and put them exactly as he had seen them. Adding theories and personal thoughts would just make things more bias. fitz 🌺 inari 🌺 |

Del would probably be on her way too. That gave her just enough time to finally retrieve the kettle that should be going off right abooout, yep! The high pitched whistle echoed down the back hall from the staff kitchen as she waddled out to pour it over a nice herbal tea in an oversized mug, hoping it would help to calm her nerves. She took a sip before carrying it and a packet of popcrisps back into the lobby and having a seat back at the desk to finally have her afternoon snack and watch the scene unfold. She knew she was in the right, no matter how this guy tried to spin it. From what she’d seen so far, though, she didn’t think he was capable of doing that. He definitely thought there was nothing wrong with his behavior, and probably wouldn't lie to cover it up. Either way she’d loaded the security footage of the last thirty minutes, and it was sitting ready to roll if it came to that. Del had arrived by this point and Tate kicked back in her chair. She took a loud crunch out of her food, seeing her hands stop their shaking already. Good. Good good. She listened, sipping her tea as he left out the finer details of what he had said and done. Of course she didn't expect him to repeat it all From memory but again....that's why they had the recording equipment in place. To clear up any grey areas. She cleared her thread softly and stood again to step away from the computer, gesturing to it for her fellow lab assistants and stood to the side, continuing to nonchalantly sip her hot beverage. ✿ Junier of WW [newclass=.bbb-icon]margin: 0px; border: 10px solid #ffffff; width: 100px; height: 100px; -webkit-border-radius: 100%; -moz-border-radius: 100%;[/newclass] [newclass=.bbb-icon img] width: 100px; height: 100px; -webkit-border-radius: 100%; -moz-border-radius: 100%;[/newclass] [newclass=.bbb-txt] width: 200px; padding: 10px; margin-top: 40px; margin-bottom: 40px; color: #888; font-family: calibri; font-size: 10px; text-align: justify; [/newclass]

She knew that Tate was a special sort of brisk whenever she worked in the lab sometimes but more often than not it helped to weed out people that didn't seem to quite understand how caring for a Pokemon went. As Del arrived Mirae realized that with all three of them here they should be able to sort things out. Of course, Del asked the man to speak and she was curious to hear what sort of things he had to say. Of course they'd still have to review the tape but nonetheless getting his side of the story now would make it easier. Especially if he decided to leave some things out. "Tate isn't a receptionist. She's a fully trained lab assistant just like the rest of us." It was rude to knock her down to the position of 'receptionist' whenever she had been the one here to help him and frankly not something she wanted to hear out of anyone's mouth. But of course, she still had to listen to the rest of his story.
"So, without reviewing the tape yet let me see if I've gotten this right? You touched a Pokemon without their permission, going so far as to tap it on the head? You then tried to get a perfectly sentient creature to scent you by leaning down? Even though the more appropriate action would have been to talk to them... And I'm doubting you were quite as courteous as you're being now from what I read in my email." She wasn't stupid. Even tone and still smiling she walked over to the computer. "Now that I've heard both sides of the story I think I'll review the tape. Unless you have something else to tell me before I do? Anything at all?" She knew that Del would have her own commentary but as the professor's niece, she was technically still in charge. At least according to them.
