that spells...a wholesome grandmotherly plot where Iba takes everyone out for cookies and bingo and MAYBE if you're well-behaved you can drive the golf cart.
I'd also love to do any IM threads where Iba just does silly grandma antics on social media like ask if you want any groceries directly on your facebook page where everyone can see it.
Need advice? iba is also here. maybe not here in a good way, but she's at least supportive in her heart, even if she can be tired of the bs from time to time.
Ranger plots are also great since that's a part of her history, and I do plan on setting her on the Ranger track here once she gets settled down.
other plots could involve environmentalist activism where iba helps with fundraisers, protests, or volunteer work. all that good stuff.

I'm not even sure what I'm doing so just save me now. Anyway, I'm not even sure what would happen between these two like - I really want someone to give al a stern talking to about his language and i'm not sure if Iba would be someone to do that or not? I just think it would throw him through a loop to see someone as old aged as she is out on the field. I just think it might be a funny comedy relief thread or something I still have no idea what I'm doing.

I'm an egg idk how to plot either Iba is a bit lax with language. Swearing is fine, but bad habits and bad attitudes are fast to tick her off. She isn't particularly a rule breaker and prefers having order to things. So if any of that fits the bill, Iba will chase that dickens into shape.
I am a fan of comedy relief threads! I generally stick to slice of life and light-hearted themes so your ideas are great to me!
My idea is that she tells him off for doing something he shouldn't like...smoking in a no smoking zone. stepping on a no steppin on the grass zone. loitering/jaywalking. something REALLY minor that most people wouldn't really care about - but Iba does.
Another funny idea since I read that your character has a pick pocketing history; someone snatches Iba's bag in public. If your character saves it only to pickpocket something much smaller in the bag while looking like a hero, that'd be freaking awesome.

omfg that last idea, i'm in love~ normally he doesn't play the hero role but it honestly might tick him off if someone gives good thief's a bad name. so i could totally see him trip the guy who stole her purse and casually slide the purse from their hand and give a death glare at them. and just casually pull something on his own while he's giving this crummy thief the stink eye. and just the gold seeing her and just being like "an old lady this will be a steal." and just the funny that would pursue. |

Yoooo I wanna rp with grabby. I got Caden and Calls to offer up to the plate. Calla I don't think has much to offer, but I'm open if you can think of anything. Caden is a Ranger who was forced to start over in Inset. They could possibly know each other through that? Maybe not like close friends or anything, but it could be neat they at least are vaguely aware the other exists, ya know?

Yo, I got some characters that could probably use a hip grandma to set them straight a bit mang.
First I got Zephyr, you know, the annoying little kid of every pokemon story ever. He's twelve, has his head in the clouds, no idea what he's doing, talks too much once you get him started, doesn't pay attention half the time, and convinced he's gonna be the best trainer there ever was. He's a nice kid, and when he's trying he does pay attention, but he's a clumsy dope who's half stuck in fantasy and probably shouldn't be pretending to be dora the explorer backpacking it around everywhere like a moron eating sugar and playing with dangerous animals :u Maybe he could use someone to occasionally watch over him, or at least teach him some of the basics of pokemon training, or safety, or just life in general. Or just a cool hip great grandma to go to the arcade with :3
Aaand Judas. The nice grandson she doesn't actually have. But in all seriousness, he's a nice man, sweet and gentle who will probably try just a little bit too much to help an old woman out even if she's actually completely fine on her own thank you. He's really just a cinnamon roll, and has no good excuse for it, spending all his time doting on pokémon and raising far too many birbs for his own good, and when he's working doing a million things at once to help people and pokemon in need. Then crashing because he's utter garbage at taking care of himself and tries to replace sleep with coffee :u Idk, I feel like Judas and her would be sweet together most times though, her in her cool grandma way doing all the stuff for these young uns, him always helping or more then happy to go along with it. And maybe she tries to help him figure out his stuff and stop being a dopey spineless flower. Or maybe she just makes him embarrassed and awkward all the time because its funny that he gets worked up so easily and she is long past any sort of awkwardness.

for caden I'd def be cool with plots that are sort of like 'damn...that restarting feel.' with the whole ranger stuff and how that can be kinda refreshing despite it's setbacks. I think one conflict they could have is between caden and iba is his sensitivity and iba's biting humor. she can be mean, he can be blunt, and she can be defensive loool. So I think if that ever got to play out, like, after they became buddies, that'd be wild. I think she'd really grow to like him like a grandson.
and calla! both from sinnoh, so that's a conversation starter. maybe they can tell from accents. i kinda think iba would write him off initially as one of those new gen folks with attitude like. based on outer appearances. idk i think having iba around as a welcoming and friendly older gay figure could be nice? if she got to know him better she'd definitely worry about him and look out for him and try 2 be his inset family.

LOL Iba and Zephyr sounds fun. she might not look like much, but i think it'd be good if she could show him a thing or two. especially about more of the pokemon care/rearing aspects and making sure the pokemon are safe, fit, and healthy. might give iba a headache but i say let's do it!! take grandma to the arcade and teach her how to shoot zombies. or other games! im giggling thinking about it.
i absolutely support overly nice grandson and stubborn 'I can make a tent and sleep in it perfectly fine' grandma. she would end up nagging him to take better care of himself before he could even begin to look after her! then iba would proceed to mess something up and they'd both be at square one. gosh a bird watching thread could be cool maybe? maybe with the swarms, an intro with something like 'oh wow the birds are really acting up and chirping nonstop with all these new pokemon migrating over here' and it could move on from there.

Nah I like it, it'll be great, he needs someone to help him not be a complete moron and he'll think she's one awesome old woman.... Even if he keeps wearing her down and giving her headaches for his slow learning and endless pools of energy.
also, my gods, bird watching, it'll be perf and Judas can be a complete nerd. I love it, he likes getting after other people gently and being a fusspot about health but he doesn't make the best practice of it himself :3 All the awkward discussions and complaints constantly between the two of them sortof arguing at each other *laughs* Oh, bird watching is fantastic though, umm, we can start it anytime, I don't mind which one of us goes first, likely Cassiopeia or just Route One. Zephyr as well is open whenever, he's probably just gonna start running around Route 1 and Throwing himself into the lake so ^^;

YESS. Iba doesn't have her starter yet but I can always start up an intro post in route 1 so she can meet Zephyr and Judas.
I just had a thought with iba/zephyr
maybe zephyr can end up teaching iba a thing or two about not overthinking things and just having fun with life
and the two can settle their differences by challenging each other
like! with the arcade like that would be a really good way to bring iba over there especially if she's determined to prove a point.

even if caden is a sensitive baby, i think it would be fun to have them kind of pick at each other a little. let caden be the shithead grandson who annoys grandma lmao. it would be nice to make him feel like he has a family, since the only people he has now are his aunt in unova and his dad who's been in the slammer since he was a little kid. maybe a little nitpicking would help get his head on straight, too, and toughen him up.
plz let iba be the older gay figure we all need in our lives. calla has enough issues, so maybe some of grandma's love will help smooth away some of his rough places and make him feel a little bit better about his life like, kisses and cookies won't solve all his problems but a good support system should help. he'll try and push away at first, i'm sure, but i would like for her to maybe, eventually, be someone he could open up to a little about his problems?

Iba and Reid
I think these two would have a blast together! They're both researchers though Reid's a intern, so meeting her would help him out as she has so much wisdom due to her experience. Course, Reid is a naturally cheery guy until the issue of fire and fire types come up, he tries to avoid those and is avoiding learning about them. So he has only a small knowledge on them. I can see her giving him a random pop quiz and ask him about a charizard or some other fire type and Reid just draw blanks while he's trying to not break into a million pieces while fidgeting with the bandages that cover his burns.
Truthfully, I see randomness of great and fun proportions if these two got together. I can also see Reid seeing her like a mentor figure depending on how the serious buisness of their professions go.
What do you think?

I have my new boy Neill who would love to meet Iba!
He's pretty much a huge weenie who took forever to get going, and a lot of the time his anxiety holds him back from doing things he wants to do. Deep down he's really interested in becoming a ranger, but he doesn't think he could cut it -- he's trained as a pokemon scientist, but just never went anywhere with it. I could definitely see Neill getting attached if they met up a few times and she tried to push him along. He responds really well to encouragement. (And then he'd probably definitely add her on whatever social media, yes please, that sounds hysterical.) He's also incredibly mellow and unconfrontational (cough, cough, pushover), so if Iba gets particularly overbearing or abrasive, he's quite likely to nod and go along with it.
Neill also doesn't understand pokespeech very well. I'm not sure if that's something I'm going to have him learn, but if Iba can understand it and wants to play a teacher role, Neill is definitely game!

HMM researching buddies!! I like it I like it. But I don't think Iba would push Reid past his comfort zone with fire type Pokemon unless it's truly necessary. I think in her field, there'd be fire specialists for that type of thing so forcing it on Reid wouldn't be necessary unless it was an emergency. Like idk giving CPR to a fire type and prompting further discussion that way?
I think I like the dynamic of Iba and her peppy new grandson tho let's go for it!
A route thread might be nice for their first meeting. Maybe it just starts raining and the two take shelter nearby or something.

idk I was thinking the ranger discussion and encouragement could really rocket off from there especially if Iba shares pics of her ranger old days and maybe shares links/spams ranger info dumps on social media to try and advertise their events. events we could make up for plots :v
Also a coincidence, but Iba doesn't understand Pokespeech either! My characters tend to not understand it. They can be confused and be bad at Pokemon charades together then.
Iba is definitely here and ready for all your mentor needs, but I think she'd be curious about Neil's college background. Iba never did the college thing but I'm sure she'd love to hear about his classes/experiences!
