[attr="class","rostercat2"]Rhys, even towards those he considers close, may not be the friendliest person. His first go to, even if he's not truly angry or annoyed, is to give snarky or sarcastic responses to whatever may be said to him. He relies heavily on the sarcasm and sassy replies, perhaps a bit too much. Most of what he says will be some form of this, and even family or friends won't be safe from these responses. He may say things that are a bit hurtful, and, most of the time, he doesn't really mean to do that; sometimes, he has trouble with how he words things, and that, along with his sarcastic responses, can be meaner than he had originally meant for them to be. He's irritable as well, with a bit of a short temper that can cause him to be annoyed by even the smallest things. Not to the point of lashing out, unless whatever made him annoyed in the first place is a sore spot, but enough to ruin his mood for a bit. He may not always be annoyed for a good reason, such as not being able to do something he was looking forward to until later, but it's a part of him he doesn't really bother to hide. To Rhys, there's no use hiding the bad parts of his personality. After all, nobody is perfect, right? Rhys has a bit of resentment towards those that treat him with pity due to what happened. Sure, he may be missing some limbs, but he's not any different than anyone else, and he doesn't want to have any special treatment that anyone else wouldn't in his situation. If anyone else can do it, then so can he, and he's not about to let anyone treat him with pity that he doesn't want because they may think otherwise. While Rhys may not seem like the best person, nobody can be that bad, right? Just with how he wants to be treated with fairness, Rhys treats others with the same fairness. Nobody will come before anybody else in his eyes, and he'll try his hardest to treat them all the same if they treat him the same as anyone else. Not even friends or family will come before strangers, as he'll give them a fair chance all the same. Unless he's judged unfairly, he has a refusal to judge anyone else just depending on their first interactions. He knows all too well that first interactions may not go as planned. When Rhys has to talk about something he really cares about, he'll be genuine in how he talks, putting aside the sarcasm and witty remarks just for a short while. After all, this is important to him, and he doesn't want it to be ruined. He may struggle with talking about it, sometimes, depending on just what happens to be on his mind. If he manages to talk about it, even if it's later rather than sooner, he'll be nothing but honest and say exactly what is on his mind and nothing but that. Rhys does have a sense of humor, and, if he's not as irritable as usual, it can show itself in lighthearted jokes and quick, harmless remarks that were obviously meant to be joking. It's rare, but, if he feels too awkward about something, he'll toss up a quick joke or two in a weak attempt to lighten the mood. If he manages to may depend on the person, but he'll try his hardest if he feels that he absolutely has to do something so neither of them will be uncomfortable or awkward about whatever may be going on. [attr="class","rostercatsub2"]PERSONALITY | [attr="class","rostercat2"]- Rhys was born in a household in Lumiose city with three older brothers, all ranging from twenty one to eight years old, with him being the youngest. - The oldest brother, Carsey, was gone most of the time, trying to start up becoming a well known breeder, but he did visit from time to time. The second brother, Damon, was trying to follow in his brother's footsteps, although he wanted to become a coordinator. The third and last older brother, Kian, never really talked about what he wanted to do, but hung by his mother's side. - Rhys did make a few friends due to neighbors who were friends with his parents, and had kids around his age, although he clung to Kian out of all of them. - When Rhys was five years of age, he began going to school, growing close to another group of boys that a friend had quickly become a part of. Things went fine for a while, until they began to drift apart as the years went on. By the time they were eight years old, it was mainly just Rhys and his old friend, as the others had went their separate ways. - Not long after Rhys turned ten did things begin to go downhill, although it wasn't too bad at first. His grades were beginning to slip, and he was having a bit of trouble concentrating; normal stuff, right? It wasn't until he was eleven, and he began failing, that things quickly took a turn for the worst. - Once he failed his first few classes, his parents were disappointed, and Carsey offered to drive him around and talk to him. Rhys, being a stubborn eleven year old, wasn't too happy at first, but he was finally roped into it. Anything after that was a blur of flashing lights and vague memories of being pushed along. He wasn't sure how long he had been unconscious for, but he was greeted by a horrible discovery when he finally did come to. Rhys and Carsey had been involved in an accident, and in the aftermath, Rhys' arm and leg were forced to be amputated. Carsey wasn't mentioned for a while, afterwards, but it didn't take Rhys long to figure out what had happened to his older brother. - After the loss of his arm, leg, and older brother, Rhys felt lost. He was forced to stay in the hospital for a while, struggling with the phantom pains and trying to get used to staying in the hospital bed for so long. When he finally was released, he was pushed around in a wheelchair, and his two brothers took care of him, making sure that he was alright. Three weeks later, he was fitted with a temporary prosthetic, with the fitting scheduled to happen six months later after the surgery. - A few days later, Rhys was released, and he was greeted with a present; a therapy pokemon named Reese, the name given to the Rockruff by Damon. Reese would help Rhys while he got used to the new limbs, and the little pokemon did, indeed, help. It took a while for Rhys to be able to walk fairly well, although he was unable to walk as well as he had. The prosthetic hand took even longer, and Rhys almost gave up a few times, but his family encouraged him. - Just as it seemed that Rhys was finally truly used to his prosthetics, he was sent in for a real fitting. The six months had passed, and along with it Rhys' birthday had as well, with him being twelve years old when he got fitted. When he finally got them, the process seemed to start all over, although this time seemed a bit easier, even if it wasn't by much. In three years, he would have to replace them, as he was informed that even the well made prosthetics didn't last longer than a few years, with three years being about average. - The three years passed slowly, with Rhys becoming homeschooled and rarely being able to meet up with his friends. However, he began to grow an interest in steampunk items and antiques, even if it was something he did in his past time. Around that time, different prosthetics began popping up, some resembling the steampunk he had grown to be interested in. When he was fifteen, it was available, and his old prosthetics were replaced once again, this time by the metal prosthetics he had grown an interest in. - In the last years at home, Rhys began to hear of the Inset region, and wondered what it would be like there. Would it be nice? It seemed to be an interesting place, and, slowly, he began to make plans to head there, someday. Two more years passed until Rhys was seventeen, and he approached his family about it. To his surprise, they were fairly supportive, as long as he got in touch and kept Reese with him. He would have to wait a few more years, however, until he was old enough to head out. - A year and a few months passed, and the last set of prosthetics lasted until a few months before Rhys' nineteenth birthday, which was longer than he would have expected. With his family giving him just enough to get by, and with Reese by his side, he set out for Inset, finally managing to reach it after what seemed like a long time.
