[attr="class","textbox"]She hadn't been on the continent for very long, but Callie was all but thrumming with nervous excitement. She missed her Butterfree dearly, but it was ultimately best that she left him with her parents to help out at home - the poor thing just didn't like traveling at all. She stared out the window as the bus rumbled down the road, watching trees and houses pass, wondering just who she would get as a partner. She'd been informed after a very brief stop at the Professor's lab that she could also visit the Ranger's station to find a partner, but it was a much greater chance to get something she was not comfortable with. [break][break] Callie worried at her thumb until the bus came to a stop. Hopping out of her seat, she hurried out the bus, giving a thanks to the driver as she walked out of it and looked at the route she'd have to take to actually get to the station. Anticipation nipped at her and fears about what she would get melted away as she looked at sprawling little town, if one could call it that. There were what looked like a few houses, but her main interest was in the sign that directed to the station in the distance. --- The good feeling lasted up until she was at the foot of the tower, when she felt it nestle in the pit of her stomach - what if she didn't get along with the Pokemon? Fearful worry prickled at the back of mind as she considered who they might bring her. What if it was a Pidgey? Spearow? Some other bird? Had they found any ice flying types yet? She shivered at the thought, her resolve crumbling. [break][break] Fear made itself a cozy nest in her stomach, but she knew she couldn't visit the Professor's lab at this point. She had them send word that she was going to make it in today to find a new friend. It's not like I have a phobia of them. I just. Don't. Like. Them. Very much. Yeah. That's it. Maybe.. we'll get along.[break][break] Adrenaline making her stomach twist, she hurried up and into the building before she could talk herself out of it, forcing herself into an autopilot of sorts. She just had to get it over with. Get the bandaid off as soon as possible. [break][break] Spotting the front desk and a person at it, she hurried up and introduced herself, "Hi, I'm here to meet a Pokemon? My name's Callie." She heard her voice, shrill and high, and had a strong suspicion that her face was pinched in worry as well. [break][break] Great first impression. Let's hope things go better from here.[newclass=".sosnbg"]background-image:url('http://subtlepatterns2015.subtlepatterns.netdna-cdn.com/patterns/fresh_snow.png');width:400px;height:440px;padding:20px;[/newclass] [newclass=".tealbg"]width:360px;height:400px;padding:20px;background-color:#edfff9;color:#E08E79;border:2px solid #C5E0DC;[/newclass] [newclass=".largequote"]font-family:georgia, sans-serif;font-size:18pt;color:#E08E79;margin-left:100px;margin-top:0px;[/newclass] [newclass=".smallquote"]font-size:14pt !important;text-align:center !important;font-family:Dancing Script, cursive!important;color:#C5E0DC !important[/newclass] [newclass=".words"]float:left;width:80px;padding:10px;color:white;background-color:#ECE5CE;font-weight:bold;color:text-align:center;border-radius:7%;margin-left:0px;text-align:center;[/newclass] [newclass=".tag"]white-space:nowrap;text-overflow:ellipsis;float:left;width:80px;padding:10px;color:white !important;background-color:#F1D4AF;font-weight:bold !important;text-align:center;border-radius:7%[/newclass] [newclass=".tag a"]font-family:georgia, sans-serif !important;font-weight:bold;color:white !important;[/newclass] [newclass=".musiclink"]margin-left:-260px;width:80px;padding:10px;color:white;background-color:#E08E79;font-weight:bold;text-align:center;border-radius:7%[/newclass] [newclass=".musiclink a"]text-decoration:underline;font-family:georgia, sans-serif !important;font-weight:bold;color:white !important[/newclass] [newclass=".notebox"]width:80px;padding:10px;height:120px;margin-left:-260px;font-family:arial;font-size:8pt;color:white;background-color:#774F38;border-radius:3%[/newclass] [newclass=".textbox"]color:#ecbbaf;width:200px;height:280px;background-color:white;border:1px solid #C5E0DC;padding:10px;margin-left:120px;margin-top:-300px;overflow:auto;padding-right:10px;text-align:justify;[/newclass] [newclass=".textbox::-webkit-scrollbar"]width:3px;[/newclass]

{ } It always seemed to be during his break when the shrill ones showed up. Between preparing for a big hassle of a ranger demonstration and dealing with the ever-present new trainers it seemed like his breaks never actually got to be that. The cigarette in his mouth dangled slightly as he watched yet another person walk by him. No one ever seemed to notice him whenever he sat out here. Something that he was mildly grateful for he guessed. It was hard to think that he was easy to miss but maybe he was just that sort of person. Either way, he didn't have time to dawdle as much as he liked. Taking a hard drag off of the cigarette he snuffed it out on the bottom of his boot, not wanting to completely waste the tobacco inside but unable to smoke indoors it was the best way to deter him.The shrill voice was enough of an indication that someone who was either nervous or couldn't control their voice. Or both. Not that it was any of his business on the latter. "Are you looking for me?" He was the ranger on duty after all and while he wasn't at the desk it was still him that was in charge of making sure this person got a starter, or not depending on how it went. He moved around her and made his way behind the desk finally. "You'll need to fill out these papers. Understand that once you go into the biome whatever Pokemon you encounter first is your starter Pokemon. If they get violent we will step in to stop them. We have the right to reject your application at any time during the process and asking you to leave." It was stupid to think that people would do something stupid enough to sabotage their chance of getting a starter and yet here he was, having to spell that out because more than once people had been removed.MADE BY VEL OF GS + WW

Mentally kicking herself, she gave an apologetic smile and nodded as he explained the rules and handed her a clipboard of paperwork to fill out. She hesitated as he explained that if a Pokemon got violent they would step in and felt a flurry of butterflies once again in her stomach. Nodding, she made a noise of understanding and moved to sit to fill out the pages, wanting to focus on it without distraction. [break][break] --- [break][break] The information was pretty straightforward and she took little time in filling it out once she got settled and calmed. After rereading the papers to make sure she didn't miss anything, she scurried back at the desk with a slightly more confident posture and a less shrill voice. She could... probably handle whatever came forward. [break][break] Probably.[break][break] "I think I filled it out all correctly," she said nervously, chewing on the corner of her mouth. "I didn't miss anything on it, did I?" She bounced a leg quietly and watched, thinking about her answers. Basics on age, nationality, sex.. A bit about her background, allergies, phobias - it wasn't technically a phobia, so she didn't list her fears there. Some others questions danced around the back of her head. Suddenly she found herself speaking, "Wh-what if we get faced with a type we...", she considered the adjective carefully, "that we aren't compatible with? Like if you were scared of something or had bad experiences with or just... never get along with?" The back of her head screamed at her, that this was a very bad time to be asking this, but the question was already out there. She couldn't take it back now, but she tried to remain curious about the question, but had a feeling that her face was betraying her. { } He started to gather his own shit as she filled out the paperwork. His Gloom's Pokeball and just general shit they would need just in case things started to get a bit on the hard side. You never knew what sort of Pokemon you would run into here. Whether it be something peaceful or something that would require a little bit more work. That was why it was always important for people to make sure that coming here was what they really wanted. Once they entered that elevator that was it. They'd either get a Pokemon or leave with empty hands due to their own fuck-ups. Of course, people who came here to get a Pokemon were generally aware of the issues behind it. They didn't come branded with large phobias of major Pokemon types. So whenever the girl asked her question, his nose wrinkled slightly in discontentment. "You suck it up buttercup. Coming here means you deal with whatever is thrown at you." He wasn't gentle with people who came in here. Especially since a lot of them happened to want to be rangers as well. But if she was coming here wanting to deal with a random Pokemon as her starter she needed to be prepared for the possibility of that being her starter. "There are no second chances here. The first Pokemon you get regardless of what you find there. That's the stipulation. If you have a problem with that you can leave now and not come back." The lab was the place to go if you wanted a gentle start. Not this place.MADE BY VEL OF GS + WW

No, nope, not at all. Not. At. All. [break][break] MOVING ON. [break][break] "That makes sense." Simple thought makes for simple response. Part of her was regretting not convincing her Butterfree to join her. [break][break] Wait, no, not thinking about it. [break][break] Watching as he collected various items, she suddenly felt very awkward without a bag of her own and she fidgeted with her arms and hands as she grew hyper-conscious of them just.. hanging there. His uncaring and cold demeanor helped her keep further thoughts to herself, ready to answer any questions he had or respond to what he said, and she simply trotted after him as he made his way out.

{ } With her question seemingly satisfied he grabbed the last of his things and made his way over to a door. Not a door outside of course but rather one to the elevator. With her following him he assumed that he didn't need to explain anything else. Especially since it was nearly too far in to turn back now. He knew that he probably seemed cold and uncaring but it was the opposite. If someone wasn't ready for this or couldn't handle not knowing who their starter Pokemon was this wasn't the place for them. It was better to weed them out before they got taken into the biomes. It was better to turn them away than to get a Pokemon's hopes up that it would finally be time for them to venture forward out of rehabilitation. Since she had followed him he went ahead and closed the door, letting the elevator take them wherever it may. Carefully he grabbed one of the Pokeballs on the elevator wall, holding it out for her. "This is your Pokeball. It's the only one you'll get so make sure you use it wisely." A few people jumped the gun on trying to catch their starter Pokemon but luckily these didn't break upon a failed attempt. Not that they told anyone that. It was better to let them learn on their own so that they would treat them more carefully. "If you run into trouble Yvette and I will back you up. But try and solve it on your own if you can." The only time they really stepped in was when things got violent. Even then it wasn't an immediate thing. Sometimes things needed to be worked out between the two of them before either would be able to respect one another. Finally, the machine stopped and the door opened. A blast of sea air hit him in the face as the biome was revealed.
Large rocks made up the shore as the ocean lapped against them. It was hard to maintain biomes like this but worth it for the Pokemon who needed it. Along one of the rocks crawled a peculiar looking Pokemon. Kieron was grateful of course that the Pokemon had appeared before they had to dive into the water. Shellos, however, was less pleased to see that there were humans here. His crawling stopped and he stared them down. While this was what he had agreed to whenever he'd come here, he wasn't ready yet. He liked it here.
